Free pizza’s always nice. Free emergency pizza is, I think we can all agree, slightly more of an alarming prospect – but still nice! As long as the emergency in question isn’t actually that dangerous or harmful, and is simply a dire need for some bread and cheese in a time of crisis.

That’s the pitch that Domino’s is making with its free Emergency Pizza giveaway. Hot on the heels of its 50% off offer, this new promotion runs during the 2026 World Cup, and sees Domino’s doling out $1 million’s worth of free ‘za if the US team finds itself on the back foot. Here’s what you need to know.

Red Card? That Calls For A Free Pie

As Parade states, Domino’s announced its Emergency Pizza giveaway on May 18, and it comes with a couple of conditions. If the US soccer team receives a red card at any point during the games, Domino’s will trigger the giveaway, and entrants are in for a shot of being given a one-topping medium pizza on the house. If the US doesn’t receive any red cards, pizzas will also be given out if either the team is knocked out of the championships or if it wins.

According to the Domino’s website, a maximum of 63,371 people are in for a shot of winning a free pizza, although each person can only win once. So, why is Domino’s doing this in the first place? “Because red cards stink,” it says on its website. “They can mean your best player is sent off the pitch; they can leave your team shorthanded; they can mean the difference between winning and losing. So, to us, red cards definitely qualify as worthy of an Emergency Pizza.” We of course agree, but then we’d agree with most schemes to give us a free pie – so we might be biased here.

How Do I Enter?

Entry opened a few days ago and will run through June 10, ahead of the US’s first game against Paraguay on June 12. You’ve gotta be in it to win it, folks! You just have to give your name, email address, and home address to enter at the website above. If you win, the prize will be sent to your Domino’s Rewards account, so make sure you’re signed up. If there are more than 63,371 entrants, you may still win 20% off your next order, so it’s still worth a shot.

Interestingly, this isn’t the only free pizza giveaway Domino’s is running at the moment – and it’s also been a bit of a season of free ‘za everywhere. The chain is also giving away 75,000 free pizzas to folks who play EA Sports FC 26 from now until June 5, who will receive their prize randomly through the Domino’s app. Elsewhere, Pizza Hut is giving away free pizza as part of its Book It Program, and last week saw National Pizza Party Day, which saw free and discounted pizzas pretty much across the board.
