The New Doritos Collab Is for Your..Ears?

Here we go again folks, Doritos has introduced another exciting collab, but this time it’s not with Mountain Dew, Buffalo Wild Wings, or Taco Bell. In fact, it’s not really something you can eat at all. Well, maybe your skull can? I’ll give you a moment to guess.

Yep, you guessed it (or maybe not, I certainly didn’t): Doritos is partnering with Skullcandy in honor of 4/20 to give us some sick Dorito-themed wireless earbuds.

They go for $34.99, they come in red and orange, and, according to the press release, both the buds and their carrying case have a “nacho cheese aesthetic reminiscent of a Doritos chip.” The first 100 people to buy the nacho cheese-themed earbuds also received a limited-edition Skullcandy x Doritos Dorito-shaped dust tray. The collaboration started on April 12th, and can still be accessed at Skullcandy’s website, although at this point it seems that they may have already sold out. Perhaps we’ll see a restock some time before 4/20? Who knew people wanted to stick Doritos in their ears this badly!

On the one hand, yay earbuds and yay Doritos, but on the other hand, I’m not sure I’ve ever once been eating Doritos and thought to myself, “Yooo, what would happen if I stuck this in my ear?” But then again, maybe that’s where the 4/20 comes in. Maybe that’s the only day of the year when a significant portion of the population might just be into an “Ear-Dorito,” and this collab will save them from sticking actual food in their actual earholes. Doritos and Skullcandy really do have our backs. Also, for the record, I think a Dorito would sound like “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys. A little cheesy, a little corny, and definitely stuck in your head, but we love them all the same.

(PSA: Please do not stick Doritos in your ears. Themed earbuds, yes. Chips, no.)
