Make Room in the Fridge for a New Dr Pepper Flavor: Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut

If you’re suffering from a severe lack of coconut soda in your life (a very serious ailment), no need to call the doctor. Dr Pepper is expected to launch a new limited edition Creamy Coconut flavor in the summer of 2024. This new Dr Pepper flavor is set to make an appearance at the upcoming National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) conference in Atlanta, but so far we know a couple of things: what the packaging will look like (images were shared on Instagram) and that the flavor will be toasted coconut in nature. So, if you’re not a fan of raw coconut water, maybe don’t worry. Also, Dr Pepper will offer a Zero Sugar version of this product—very slay for the diet soda folks.

Will Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut be a hit?

Dr Pepper is already very flavorful, by which I mean it consists of a lot of flavors—23, in fact. Does it work to add yet another flavor to the mix? In February, we ranked all of the Dr Pepper flavors, and the most unique Dr Pepper offering, the new Strawberries & Cream Dr Pepper, finished last. The other, more traditional flavors received superior rankings, including original Dr Pepper, Dr Pepper & Cream Soda, and Dr Pepper Cherry. The critique of the Strawberries & Cream Dr Pepper was that strawberry infusion overpowered the essence of Dr Pepper. Perhaps if the new Creamy Coconut flavor can offer something one-of-a-kind while still clearly tasting like a Dr Pepper, it will become a permanent part of the Dr P lineup. We’ll know next summer! Here’s hoping we can go coconuts over this new Dr Pepper flavor.

We’ll update this post as more info becomes available!
