Dr Pepper Dippin’ Dots: We Spotted the New Flavor Ahead of Launch

The ice cream of the future has come in a myriad of flavors over the years: cookies and cream, birthday cake, rainbow ice, banana split (objectively the best flavor), and many more. But in 2026, Dippin’ Dots and Dr Pepper are teaming up on a brand new frozen dessert that nearly popped my eyes out of my head when I saw it hidden at the bottom of a random promotional image. It’s time to crack open a cold can of…spherical ice cream. Let’s just get into the news.

Where did this information come from?

The annual trade show for the National Association of Convenience Stores is coming up in just a few weeks (which Tyler Bowers and I will be covering live from the show floor, stay tuned). Exhibitors can submit the products they plan to showcase to an online catalogue that buyers and media can study ahead of the event.

There I was doing my due diligence, skipping over all the hot dog rollers and vape shelves, when I saw a pretty bland promotional image from Dippin’ Dots. Seriously, 90% of this image is focused on their gas-station-friendly “spoon under cup” format. The bottom 10%? An innocuous callout in a very familiar maroon color: “NEW FLAVOR!” right next to the Dr Pepper logo. Can y’all lead with that next time?

Is this the first drink-inspired Dippin’ Dots flavor?

It’s not the first time, but I’m just hoping it’s a little easier to find than the last drink-inspired flavor they launched. Back in 2023, Dippin’ Dots debuted ICEE Cherry ‘n Blue Razz. I’ve been looking for this ice cream ever since to no avail. The Dippin’ Dots sample cart at this year’s Sweets and Snacks Expo featured the flavor on their signage…but they didn’t have any. I nearly wept into my free cup of Cookie Monster.

When can I buy Dr Pepper Dippin’ Dots?

At this time, no release date has been announced; I assume this will launch in 2026. You better believe I’ll be marching up to the Dippin’ Dots booth at the NACS Expo for answers (and hopefully an early taste). Stay tuned for the fizzy details, Pepperheads.
