El Pollo Loco is generally understood to be known almost exclusively for their chicken. I mean, it’s in their name. It’s like if you went to Chick-fil-A and were confused as to why their entire menu was comprised of different fried chicken dishes. That said, El Pollo Loco actually does pursue a lot of other foods, especially in regards to seasonal offerings.

This fall, their menu expanded to include a new seasonal entrée, drink, and dessert. And while we’re sure that the Red and Green Chili Cheesy Enchilada Double Chicken Bowls and Pumpkin Pie Mini Churros are fabulously delicious, that’s not what we’re here to talk about today. You see, in honor of Halloween this week El Pollo Loco is offering their customers the chance to get their seasonal Halloween Coffee for free. Here’s how to get it.
A Real Seasonal Treat
El Pollo Loco is asking their fans to think back to the nostalgic taste of caramel apple lollipops when sipping on their new fall beverage, the Caramel Apple ChataCoffee. The drink takes their typical ChataCoffee that combines Mexican-style Horchata and iced coffee and adds a sweet, buttery caramel apple flavor to it. And, since we’re already going all out this Halloween weekend, we would suggest opt in to the creamy cold foam topper.
But it’s not just this seasonal beverage included in the freebie opportunities. Actually, you can order any of the ChataCoffees they offer and get them for free so long as you are a Loco Rewards member. Loco Rewards members simply need to make any five dollar purchase from El Pollo Loco in order to receive the free ChataCoffee of their choosing. But considering that the freebie is only available on October 30 and 31st, we would suggest taking the opportunity to try out the caramel apple flavor while you still can.
Lingering Thoughts
Honestly, we think this is a pretty genius freebie to offer customers. Not only is this one weekend of the year where people are guaranteed to need food at high degrees of convenience and require an abundance of caffeine, but they’re offering it to their customers through a drink that feeds into the overall theme of the holiday. At this point, the only drawback we could see to this whole thing would be if the drink itself is good. Caramel apple flavored things tend to be a bit of a hit or miss. But hey, it’s Halloween, and you know what they say: Trick or treat!
