What screams “Texas” more than brisket, Dr. Pepper, and extra-large everything? Whataburger. Every Texan has a deep appreciation for the state’s own chain burger joint, its sign off Interstate 10 as iconic a sight as the Alamo and spurs on a pair of cowboy boots. I’ll never forget my first Whataburger meal when I lived in the Lone Star State for a short time—that was the moment the Yankee was knocked out of me and I could finally start saying “y’all” with pride.

This July, celebrate America’s semiquincentennial birthday with fireworks, a huge burger that’s widely considered the best value in fast food, and a little extra cash in hand. Whataburger is dishing out July deals for a little more burger for your buck this summer. Take that, inflation.
What Are Whataburger’s July deals?
Head to Whataburger on National Fried Chicken Day (what do you mean you didn’t know there was a national fried chicken day?), which falls on July 6th. On that day, you’ll be able to grab a Whatachick’n sandwich—that’s a classic crispy chicken sandwich on a potato bun with pickles—for a whole 2 bucks. Later, on July 10th, otherwise known as National French Fry Day (if there’s a National Fried Chicken Day, of course there’s a National French Fry Day) pick up a free medium-sized container of fries at Whataburger. That’s literally it. No purchase necessary or any hoops to jump through. Just waltz into Whata’ and grab the fries that you so rightly deserve.
Finally, on July 29th, National Chicken Wing Day (I’m sensing a pattern here), double up on Whatawings with a BOGO deal for the chain’s nine-piece wings. Mix and match your 18 chicken wings in a variety of flavors, including Honey BBQ, Buffalo, Honey Butter and Sweet & Spicy. There’s one itsy-bitsy caveat, though: You’ll need to make sure you download the Whataburger app to access these quirky summer specials. A sacrifice that’s probably worth the few measly megabytes of storage space on your phone.
Is 2026 The Year Of The Whataburger Deal?
Factoring in the Whataburger-Coca-Cola collab that could win you a free trip, it seems like Whataburger is really pulling out all the stops this summer. The chain also launched its Whatadeal menu early this year, which has quickly proven to be one of the better fast food value menus of 2026. In a time when a hot meal for a few bucks seems like a total thing of the past, leave it to a legendary regional chain to keep things affordable and give fans even more of a reason to pop in this July for an extra-special treat.
