Seasonal items for ever have us food writers standing at attention. This month’s new product lineups at the grocery stores have us just as interested as ever, if not moreso, because of how exciting October is regarding seasonal flavors.

Publix has been rotating out all of their seasonal summer items for warmer, heartier, and increasingly pumpkin spice-focused items. But it’s not all pumpkin spice at Publix, and we’re excited to see what October has in store for us. Of everything that we saw that would be seasonally available starting October, these are the five things were anticipating shopping the most.

Cookie Dough Pumpkin Twin Cheesecake Slices

Of the grocery store bakeries, Publix is doing something truly exceptional. All of their baked goods are typically made in store, and we’ve always had a particular affinity for their cheesecake slices. While they have a lot of pumpkin spice items coming through their bakeries, there are none quite as interesting as this cheesecake. It incorporates cookie dough as well as pumpkin flavors, plus there’s two slices in each pack. You can share the wealth or have a truly wonderful night of indulgence all to yourself.

Publix Limited-Edition Chantilly Cake Premium Ice Cream

At this point, I feel like most people are familiar with the Whole Foods Chantilly Berry Cake obsession. And it’s well deserved, the cake is absolutely delicious. But, when Whole Foods released the ice cream version of their iconic cake, we were a bit disappointed. They only released it in a dairy free version, and that’s all well for anyone who needs that sort of accommodation. But for people who prefer a real, full-dairy ice cream, it was a bit underwhelming. Publix came to the rescue though. This limited-edition ice cream is one that we couldn’t be more eager to get our hands on and try out.

Hazelnut Crunch Bar Cake

Not all seasonal baked goods can be pumpkin spiced in the fall, and we’re excited that the Publix bakery has acknowledged that and give us some opportunity to try out other things that feel equally indulgent and celebratory. As the seasons start to change, it becomes a natural pairing for a lot of autumn and winter foods to have some kind of nut thrown into the mix. And, there’s nothing it feels quite as indulgent and luxurious as chocolate and hazelnut together. Given how endlessly satisfying Publix bar cakes are in the grand scheme, this Hazelnut Crunch Bar Cake is one we are dying to try out.

Publix Deli Sweet & Spicy Chili Oven-Roasted Chicken

When you pull into a Publix parking lot you’re immediately hit with the smell of chicken. Generally, it’s their fried chicken that you smell, but we don’t always need fried chicken for whatever meal we’re planning for dinner. Having a rotisserie or oven-baked chickens from Publix on hand is the peak of convenience, and Publix is executing their ready-made chickens with exemplary quality.

Some of the best chickens that they have had have been the seasonal flavors, so this new Sweet & Spicy variety is naturally at the top of our priorities to try out. And, with sweet and spicy flavor combinations being at their peak of social intrigue and desire, this flavor is perfect for satisfying people’s cravings.

Publix Beer Bratwurst

It’s always one of our favorite things to see raw sausages (as opposed to fully-cooked, ready-to-eat sausages) available in grocery store protein sections. There’s something about it being cooked “to order” that makes it so juicy and satisfying. And as we approach peak Octoberfest season in the United States, naturally we’re thinking about beer brats. Now, Publix has just made it even easier for us to indulge.
