Your Favorite Iconic Candies Are Now Pocket-Friendly

As I’ve gotten older, my love of candy hasn’t waned – but my ability to eat full bags of it in one go certainly has. Look, I’ve just endured one too many sugar crashes and mid-afternoon slumps in my time. So, at the moment, my candy habits look like the following: I buy a bag of it, I have a glorious time with the first few mouthfuls, I tuck said bag away, conscientiously and in a somewhat virtuous fashion…and then I forget about it, only to find lumps of stale, half-melted hard candy weeks down the line, that ends up being thrown out.

So you might say I’m the target audience for this new release from Ferrara, the company that owns Everlasting Gobstopper, Lemonhead, and Runts, among others. It’s just announced that all of them are now way more pocket-appropriate. Here’s what I mean.

Ferrara Pocket Packs

Yesterday, Ferrara announced it would launch Iconic Pocket Packs, smaller individual packages of six of its most famous classic candies. These new, 2.5-ounce bags are intended to be $1 each, although whether all retailers will stick to that remains to be seen. In its press release, Ferrara says these new packs “give consumers a way to reconnect with the classic brands they’ve loved, now bringing them back in a new, fresh, convenient, and portable format to enjoy and share wherever they go” – and I have to say that while the sharing sentiment is very nice, I sort of feel like these give you licence to…keep them all to yourself. I’m not recommending it. I’m just putting it out there. These can be just for you.

But to the candies! Everlasting Gobstoppers, Lemonheads, Runts, Red Hots, Jujyfruits, and Bottle Caps will all now come in the new Pocket Packs. Although the candies inside are all pretty classic and nostalgic, Ferrara’s given the packs a nice, updated feel, too — think bright colors, vibrant branding, all that stuff.

When Can I Get Them?

Right now. Ferrara Iconic Pocket Packs are out now at certain retailers, but we’ll see a wider rollout in September. And if you know you’ll want more than 2.5 ounces of candy at a time, all of these brands are still available in larger pack sizes. You’ve got options. Now, Ferrara: Can we get an update on those Brach’s Crunchy Chewy Jelly Beans we saw a few months ago? Because I’ve been thinking about them ever since May.
