Ferrero Rocher, the company behind those extra fancy chocolate truffles, is stepping into a new category: squares. Yes, Ferrero Rocher Squares are hitting shelves just in time for the holidays. Let’s cut the pretense and get to the rich, chocolate center of this nutty story.
So Ferrero Rocher just made their truffles… square?
Per the brand, all four flavors of Ferrero Rocher Squares contain “chocolate, a creamy filling, roasted hazelnuts, and crispies.” I don’t know about you, but this does sound like a classic Ferrero Rocher truffle shoved into a square mold. As someone with pretty strong “chocolate shouldn’t change shape” opinions, I’m reserving my judgment on these until I try them for myself. I will say, it is slightly easier to portion control with individually-wrapped squares than it is to convince yourself to close a tray of Ferrero Rocher truffles.
Wait, did that say “crispies” were an ingredient?
Yes, the email I got from Ferrero Rocher used that word in the description of their new squares. “Crispies” is up there with Oreo’s “inclusions” on the list of lightly-terrifying ingredient names. After a little research, I found another product listing that states their truffles include “crispy wafers,” which gives Ferrero Rocher chocolates that signature crunch factor. For my sake, I have to assume these crispies are just extra-small chunked wafers.
What flavors of Ferrero Rocher Squares are there?
The line is launching with four flavors: Milk Hazelnut, Dark Hazelnut, White Hazelnut, and Caramel Hazelnut. In addition to those four individual flavor bags, a variety bag containing the milk, dark, and white chocolate flavors is also available.
Where can I get Ferrero Rocher Squares?
The brand has stated the line is available now at select retailers, but it officially launches at Amazon, Target, and Walmart on October 1st. That said, I’ve found all four flavors and the assorted flavor bag at Walmart and Meijer locations already. Should I review the whole lineup here on Sporked? Let me know in the comments.
