Today, we’ve got something truly first-of-its-kind: I’m reviewing a roller coaster-flavored ice cream. This new Graeter’s Ice Cream flavor is part of the brand’s limited-time collection of “Bake Shop” flavors. Upcoming flavors in this collection include Blueberry Lemon Crumble, Pineapple Passion Fruit Sorbet, Minty Brownie, and Caramel Pecan Cheesecake—but only one Bake Shop flavor is based on a roller coaster. Let’s find out whether Graeter’s Beast Feast ice cream is a thrill ride of flavor or just a small world.

How is this ice cream roller coaster-flavored?

Graeter’s partnered with Kings Island (a Cincinnati-area theme park under the Six Flags banner) to produce an ice cream flavor based on their record-setting roller coaster “The Beast.” When it opened in 1979, The Beast was the longest, fastest, and tallest wooden roller coaster on the planet (and still holds the title of longest to this day). These accolades are, obviously, worthy of an ice cream tribute.

Kings Island is located a breezy 20-minute drive away from the Graeter’s factory, so “Beast Feast” is a super obvious team-up. In addition to Graeter’s scoop shops and select retailers, you’ll be able to find Beast Feast at Graeter’s ice cream carts around Kings Island while supplies last.

New Graeter’s Flavor!

Graeter’s Beast Feast Ice Cream Review

Pros: If you can believe it, this cookie butter ice cream stuffed with sugar cookie dough and sprinkles is really good! The cookie dough chunks are huge—I could make reasonably-sized cookies out of the cookie dough chunks found in this ice cream. I was also impressed by how crunchy the sprinkles were without freezing into unchewable pebbles. And, of course, the ice cream is spectacularly dense and flavorful; Graeter’s is qualified as “superpremium” ice cream and this absolutely lives up to that classification.

Cons: If you’re really gonna force a negative out of me, the ice cream didn’t need to be cookie butter-flavored. The cinnamon that comes from the cookie butter flavoring is the least fitting part of this recipe, but it’s still a fantastic new flavor of Graeter’s ice cream.
