Graza is known for making extremely aesthetically pleasing olive oil—too aesthetically pleasing, arguably. As my colleague Justine Sterling put it in our ranking of the best olive oils: “The packaging is too cute. It’s too hip. It’s too Brooklyn. It’s too Insta-ready.” But if you’re down to clown with olive oil that comes in a pleasant, olive-green squeezy bottle with a nice logo, the good news is Graza olive oil is also REALLY delicious.
Their “Drizzle” EVOO (h/t Rachael Ray) is our #1 favorite olive oil because it’s “silky and buttery and just a hint peppery and salty.” Sounds like something that would taste pret-ty good on popcorn, huh? Well, great news: Graza olive oil teamed up with Bjorn Qorn on a bagged popcorn. Does it do Graza justice? We tasted it to find out.
Pros: I’m gonna be honest: Olive oil popcorn sounds VERY boring to me. Have you peeped the bagged popcorn selection at your local supermarket lately? It spilleth over with fun flavors, including examples from Bjorn Qorn (although, we’re partial to their “classic flavor,” which is basically just nutritional yeast). The Graza collab is a VERY pleasant surprise. It’s like buttered popcorn with just a touch more depth—every kernel is buttery and perfectly salted, but there’s an olive oil bitterness on the finish that keeps you coming back for bite after bite. It’s like movie theater popcorn that’s just a litttttle bit elevated—and, since it’s made with EVOO instead of butter, it’s vegan. The only ingredients listed on the bag are non GMO popcorn, extra virgin olive oil, and sea salt. That’s it.
Cons: If you like REALLY big popcorn flakes (that’s what the kernels are called after they pop), Bjorn Qorn might be a little bit of a letdown. These are squarely average sized. But they’re so light, so crispy, and so flavorful, I seriously doubt even the popcorn size queens will mind.
Howdy! I’m Gwynedd, Sporked’s managing editor. I live in Los Angeles and have access to the best tacos the U.S. has to offer—but I’m a sucker for a crunchy Old El Paso taco night every now and then. I’ve been at Sporked since 2022 and I’m still searching frozen mozzarella sticks that can hold a candle to restaurant sticks.
Why you should trust me: I’ve been a journalist for 20 years (yikes), a consumer of food for 40-plus years, and I’m truly hard pressed to think of foods I don’t like (or that I can’t tolerate at the very least). Oh and one time I cooked my way through Guy Fieri’s cookbook and wrote about the journey through Flavortown.
What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s Original Savory Thins. Fat free plain yogurt (usually Fage or Nancy’s). Honeycrisp apples. Sweet cream coffee creamer for my at-home Americanos. A frozen cauliflower crust pizza and some jarred mushrooms to top it with. Old El Paso Stand ‘N Stuff taco shells and Gardein Ground Be’f, even though I think “be’f” is a nightmarish contraction.
Favorite ranking: Stouffer’s frozen dinners. I don’t own a microwave (I get my cancers the old fashioned way!), so I love taste testing things that I don’t really buy to eat at home.
Least favorite ranking: Soy sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love soy sauce—but consuming that much sodium in one sitting is probably illegal in some countries. Our frozen enchilada taste test was a close second; the smell of microwaved corn tortillas still haunts me.
