Our supreme overlords at Pepsi have blessed us with a new Mountain Dew flavor: HoneyDEW! Unfortunately for fans east of the Mississippi river, the flavor is exclusively available at Maverik and Kum & Go locations. Rather than drive the man hours needed to acquire HoneyDEW myself, I enlisted the help of Joe from the Dew Drinker Discord. I’m happy to report that the bottles of HoneyDEW have arrived safely! Now the question is: Is HoneyDEW worth tracking down for yourself? Read on for our full, official review.
Pros: As the label implies, HoneyDEW has an unabashedly bold honeydew melon flavor. Although there is no lime in HoneyDEW, it reminds me of the objectively best flavor of Gatorade (Cucumber Lime) in the best way possible. Usually I am not a huge fan of honeydew-flavored things, but this is very smooth and refreshing.
Cons: All of the zero sugar Dew drinkers are crying out in unison because of the lack of a zero sugar HoneyDEW. Also, HoneyDEW is pretty reserved for Mountain Dew, which is typically known for wacky and innovative flavors.
Verdict: You’ll want to grab this new Mountain Dew flavor sooner than later, particularly if you’re a fan of honeydew melon or even if you’re just a fan of the brand—it’s worth checking out, though maybe not worth a whole road trip.
