Hot Ones Pringles Are Discontinued and Fans Are Distraught

The lord giveth, and the lord taketh away. That’s the case where Pringles are concerned, at least. The chip brand isn’t exactly shy about bringing out new flavors, especially ones that tie in with others (you only have to look at the new Burger King flavored Pringles for proof of that – yes, they’re only available in the UK for now, but our point still stands). However, when it decides that something’s no longer working, it’s merciless in axing it.

That’s exactly what’s happened with Hot Ones Pringles, according to the fine folks over on Reddit. Word has reached us from the message boards that this Pringles flavor has got the chop, and people aren’t happy. Here’s what we know.

Hot Ones Pringles: Apparently Not Hot Enough

Hot Ones Pringles were first released in 2022, and ever since they hit shelves, people have been falling head over heels for them. This trio of flavors was, of course, based on the ever-popular web series of the same name – and like that series, they really pushed the boundaries of how much spice people can take. Given that chips that say they’re spicy are normally anything but, Hot Ones Pringles were a breath of fresh air, albeit one that left you reaching for a glass of milk.

However, it looks as though Pringles is quiet-quitting on us with this product. Over on Reddit, one eagle-eyed user reported that Hot Ones flavors have been set as sold out in the online stores they’ve checked, and they can’t be found anywhere on shelves, either. The user who claimed this then stated that they would email Pringles to confirm whether they were in fact gone for good, and came back saying “they are 100% for sure discontinued.”

This news will no doubt leave everyone else in the thread, who chimed in saying how much they loved the spice of these things, devastated. Now, obviously, the person who made this Reddit post could just be telling a big ol’ lie – but would they really go to all that trouble?

Is There Any Hope of These Pringles Coming Back?

Sadly, as yet, we don’t know. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for Pringles to bring back flavors that it once axed – Spicy Guacamole Pringles returned after a very lengthy 10 years’ absence, after all – but given that this one is a tie-in with a series, it’s probably a bit less likely to. Unless Hot Ones suddenly gets bigger than ever, in which case, maybe it’ll treat us to another run.

Pringles fans can hopefully breathe a sigh of relief that Lay’s fans can’t, though. PepsiCo is discontinuing a bunch of that other chip brand’s flavors, and is getting rid of a lot of other products while it’s at it. Let’s all just count our blessings here.
