Last month, I found two of the new Hot Pockets Snack Breaks flavors in my local freezer section… out of five I knew were in production. In the pursuit of speedy snack coverage, I reviewed those first two here on Sporked with flimsy plans to cover the rest if I laid eyes on them.
Well, Hot Pockets themselves found my review and reached out to ask if they could send over the remaining three variants for a follow-up! A few days later, a box of brand-new Hot Pocketses arrived at my doorstop. I’ll be covering the limited-edition Apple Pie dessert variant in the near future; to start, let’s crack into what could be the cheesiest Hot Pockets ever made.
- Hot Pockets® Snack Breaks Spicy Jalapeño Popper Review

Pros: There’s a genuine heat to the jalapeño included here, with no protein to distract you from the classic combination of pepper and cream cheese. This might be the only Hot Pockets Snack Breaks variant that I could actually see myself sharing; housing this like a classic Hot Pocket (in 5 bites at most) might cause some overheating.
Cons: Much like the pretzel crust in the initial batch I reviewed, this crust is prone to becoming super stiff just a few minutes post-microwaving (despite microwaving specifically being called out as the option to ensure softer crust).
I understand this is emulating a popular appetizer, but with one exception (which we’re about to cover), I think every Hot Pocket needs a protein. This just feels lacking in some material way, especially since it’s sold in a single pack. The mainline Hot Pockets line has a Jalapeño Steak with Cheese offering; let’s bring that into this new snacking format.

- Hot Pockets® Snack Breaks Ultimate Cheddar Review
-
Pros: Oh, this is perfect. Per my vegetarian taste tester, this has gooier cheese than any previous cheese-exclusive Hot Pocket offering. The crust reminds me of Cheez-Its, which I’m not the slightest bit mad about. The multi-cheese blend is actually distinguishable in every bite, making this a surprisingly nuanced… microwavable cheese pastry. Basically, this is the ideal hot cheesy snack.
Cons: Seriously, why do these have the crease down the middle for splitting? No one is going to be sharing something this good. If the Snack Breaks line ever goes away, I really hope some of these recipes get promoted to the mainline of Hot Pockets.
