Iconic Met Gala Looks as Snacks

Ever wonder what your favorite celebrity’s Met Gala look would taste like? I’m here to help!

Every year, celebs descend on the Metropolitan Museum of Art in their most outrageous regalia to wow one another and an adoring general public (but mostly Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour). There’s always a theme and there are always a bunch of wild looks to go along with it. In case you were wondering, this year’s theme is “in honor of Karl” to celebrate a new Karl Lagerfeld exhibit at the Costume Institute at the Met.

In honor of the Met Gala tonight (Monday, May 1, 2023) and since we always have snacks on the brain, I have created this roundup of some of the most beloved, memorable, and controversial Met Gala looks of all time and assigned them snacks that truly capture their essence.

Kim Kardashian in Mugler (2019): Pop Secret Movie Theater Butter

Our favorite microwave popcorn is absolutely drenched in butter, much like Kim Kardashian was absolutely drenched in this Mugler Met Gala look from 2019. While Pop Secret Movie Theater Butter Popcorn is dripping with butter, Kim Kardashian was dripping with iridescent beads when she rocked this look. We love the intentional wetness of both this popcorn and this Met Gala style moment.

Zendaya in Versace (2018): Motor City Pizza Co. Supreme Detroit-Style Deep Dish Pizza

The Met Gala theme in 2018 was heavenly bodies and Zendaya stunned in this Versace dress inspired by Joan of Arc. Zendaya clearly understood the assignment and looked absolutely heavenly. Motor City Pizza Co. Supreme Detroit-Style Deep Dish Pizza is one of the most heavenly things we’ve ever tried at Sporked. It will easily wow a crowd, just like Zendaya in this all-silver Met Gala look. This pizza is one of my all-time favorites and this Met Gala look is one of my all-time favorites. Oh, and if you don’t consider pizza to be a snack, please keep that to yourself.

Lizzo in Thom Browne (2022): Trader Joe’s Black Tea and Boba Coconut Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert

Lizzo brought a flute to the Met Gala and played it on the red carpet. This was an exciting and welcome surprise, much like the perfectly chewy boba in the Trader Joe’s Black Tea and Boba Coconut Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert. Plus, Lizzo is vegan and so is this delicious sweet snack.

Bad Bunny in Burberry (2022): Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly Smucker’s Uncrustables

Both Bad Bunny’s 2022 Met Gala look and Smucker’s Uncrustables are simple and all about structure. Bad Bunny’s outfit is the perfect balance of masculine and feminine. Uncrustables are the perfect balance of peanut butter and jelly. Plus, those little glasses are cute and Uncrustables are cute!

Megan Fox in Dundas (2021): Herr’s Carolina Reaper Cheese Curls

Herr’s Carolina Reaper Cheese Curls are smoking hot, just like Megan Fox in this Met Gala look from 2021. Both are brightly colored and demand your attention as soon as you notice them. I mean, c’mon. Of course Megan Fox is a hot chip!
