National Pancake Day is technically on September 26th, but IHOP has designated March 3 as its own National Pancake Day — so now we have two annual celebrations of the best sweet breakfast staple. Not that we’re complaining, because the more pancakes, the better.

To commemorate the occasion, IHOP is treating its fans generously to free pancakes. Here’s everything you need to know about nabbing your short stack.
IHOP is giving out a free meal to its diners for one day only
Today, March 3, the pancake house is offering a free Short Stack of Buttermilk Pancakes with any dine-in order nationwide. This will last from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., when the restaurant closes. IHOP’s goal is to create more quality time for families, with “no planning, no pressure, because pancakes just taste better when the table’s full.”
Why is IHOP giving away free pancakes?
I know, it almost sounds too good to be true. But IHOP’s actually doing it for a good cause. Every $1 donated by customers on its National Pancake Day provides 10 meals to support those experiencing food insecurity, secured by Feeding America.
Besides giving away free pancakes, IHOP also partnered with an interesting internet personality
IHOP enlisted the help of Mr. Fantasy (rumored to be Riverdale alum KJ Apa’s alter ego) to spread the word about the sweet deal. In a video shared on social media, Mr. Fantasy is seen giving out flyers in Los Angeles promoting free pancakes.
Apa Mr. Fantasy also announced that he’s making an appearance at IHOP’s Hollywood restaurant on 7006 Sunset Blvd. on National Pancake Day, hosting a meet-and-greet with fans. Did you dine with Mr. Fantasy? Let us know in the comments!
