Much like Disney, Jeni’s Ice Creams has a vault. But instead of somewhat controversial movies from our past, Jeni’s vault contains unique ice cream flavors. These are limited edition flavors inspired by pop culture moments, art, and whatever strange, experimental ice cream concept strikes the Jeni’s R&D department. These flavors could come back—they might make their way back to scoop shops or they could be available for purchase online—but for now they’re lying dormant in the vault.

Here’s all the Jeni’s Flavor Vault ice cream flavors, ranked by how much we want them back in circulation.
13. Skillet Cinnamon Roll
This Jeni’s flavor gives Yankee Candle rather than Cinnabon. It can stay in the Flavor Vault.
12. Super Moon
Super Moon is part of Jeni’s “Punk Stargonaut” collection, which is a group of flavors inspired by a “fictional flight through the galaxy.” It’s a swirl of two marshmallow flavors: classic (yellow) and candied violet (grayish blue). Per Jeni’s, this is one of their most requested flavors. But I don’t know. Sounds like it could be way too sweet.
11. Salty Caramel
Jeni’s Salty Caramel fell pretty squarely in the middle of our ranking of Jeni’s flavors. While it’s very interesting and manages to taste like the crust of a creme brulee, it’s a little too interesting. You wouldn’t be tempted to eat a whole pint of this.
10. Golden Nectar
Does anyone else think this isn’t the best name? Or is my mind just permanently in the gutter? Name aside, the flavor sounds pretty good, though not groundbreaking: spiced yellow sweet cream ice cream with crunchy bits of aerated toffee candy.
9. Ted Lasso Biscuits with the Boss
Remember when Ted Lasso brought us all together with its bright colors and gentle comedy? Well, it also inspired this shortbread-studded sweet cream ice cream. With a new season of Ted Lasso coming soon, I wouldn’t be surprised if this made it out of the Vault.
8. Pop-Tarts Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon
We reviewed this Jeni’s collab flavor when it first came out in 2023, and we were pretty darn happy with it. The brown-sugar-cinnamon ice cream base was super creamy and Pop-Tart pieces are awesome mix-ins.
7. Wedding Cake
I really want to try this flavor. You get buttercream-flavored ice cream with yellow cake pieces (which are gluten-free) and swirls of lemon curd and blackberry jam. I LOVE lemon curd in ice cream and think this could be a real winner. Bring it out.
6. Cosmic Bloom
Another flavor in the “Punk Stargonaut” collection, Jeni’s likens this flavor to “a stretch of neon-opalescent shoreline glittering on a tropical planet in outer space.” That’s a hell of a picture to live up to. Here on Earth, though, we just say it’s a blend of mandarin, tangerine, kiwi, and passionfruit. It also supposedly has a buttermilk-y tang. And that’s where you really reel me in. It sounds like grade A sherbet.
5. Nebula Berry
Another member of the “Punk Stargonaut” group, this magenta ice cream features real blueberries in blueberry-raspberry-elderflower buttermilk frozen yogurt. Sweet and tart and tangy and creamy with actual berries in the mix? A real winner.
4. Purple Star Born
Jeni’s first-ever grape ice cream, this “Punk Stargonaut” flavor is made with Concord grapes, blackcurrants, and buttermilk. Out of all the “Punk Stargonaut” flavors, this is the one I want Jeni’s to release the most. Concord grape ice cream sounds so unique! Especially when you mix with tart and tannic blackcurrants. Give it to me!
3. Jeni’s Homemade Banana Bread
Made with a banana bread recipe from Jeni herself, this is a mix of banana custard ice cream studded with crunchy walnuts and chunks of chocolate chip banana bread. Absolute yum. Banana bread is one of the great baked goods of the world and it deserves more love than it gets. I’m pulling for Jeni’s to bring this back.
2. Sunshine
How do you feel about gray ice cream? This extremely experimental flavor challenges your brain to eat a gray thing that tastes like a yellow thing. While it looks like cloudy skies, the flavor is actually passionfruit and tangerine. It was created as a way to support On Our Sleeves, which works to raise awareness about children’s mental health and provide free educational resources to families. We could probably use a bit more of that, so yeah, bring this flavor out, Jeni’s.
1. OPAQUE
This charcoal-black ice cream was made with Brooklyn artist Cj Hendry who challenged the brand to make an all-black ice cream. It’s super duper chocolaty with ripples of espresso fudge and balsamic cherry jam (yum). Our own Griffin Parker wrote that this might be the best ice cream he’s ever had—not just the best Jeni’s ice cream. I trust him. And so I must try this ice cream.
