It’s summertime, and you know what that means: Scoops at the ready! Spoons standing to attention! Bowls primed! It’s ice cream time. And Jeni’s knows it too. The ice cream brand has already been in our minds and on our lips this July: Last week, we reviewed its new summer flavors (the Hibiscus Chili Punch is the one to beat, just so you know). These flavors follow a fairly busy year for Jeni’s, in which it released a couple of dessert-inspired options and a TV collab, which we’ll come to shortly…

And now, it’s got ANOTHER collaboration with a big ol’ televisual event. And we’re gonna talk about it. This one’s well-timed.
Biscuits With The Boss
Jeni’s has just announced that it’s bringing back its Biscuits With The Boss flavor, a limited-edition collab with none other than “Ted Lasso” (the final season of which drops on Wednesday, August 5 on Apple TV+). This flavor will be available online and in scoop shops on July 21 and will not, as you can probably imagine, be around for long.
We’re not sure whether the intention with this flavor is for customers to eat it while watching the show – but we’d imagine Jeni’s wouldn’t mind if they did just that. Biscuits With The Boss is a combination of a salted butter sweet cream base with shortbread cookie pieces, that very British inclusion that Lasso bakes for boss Rebecca (played by Hannah Waddingham). Biscuits With The Boss first came out in 2023, and reviewers were gently impressed by it when trying it a few years back: The sweet cream base has presence, but isn’t overwhelming, while the cookie pieces are abundant enough to actually have an impact.
TV-Ready
As we teased above, Jeni’s is prone to leaning into TV collabs, and this year, it has a blockbuster one in the form of its Bridgerton ice creams. The brand brought out two flavors at the start of the year to celebrate the release of the show’s newest season, both of them feeling appropriately Regency-oriented. When we tried its Earl Grey Crème Brûlée flavor, we were gently impressed, if not utterly blown away – although to be honest, its success did depend a lot on whether you liked Earl Grey notes or not.
Its Ted Lasso flavor, though, has a bit more of a universally appreciated flavor landscape, so it’ll be accessible to most people. Get it while it’s hot (or cold).
