A few weeks ago, John Cena became the Breaducator – and upon typing that sentence out, I realised that there are indeed still new combinations of words that we haven’t yet uttered into existence! So we press on, into the future. Anyway, Cena’s newest role came courtesy of Nature’s Own, which teamed up with the actor and former pro wrestler to promote its bread’s new recipe. And as it turns out, he’s not done talking about bread yet.

How do we know this? Because he’s just given an interview, in which he spoke about his favorite breakfast and lunch recipes – and it turns out that the guy really does like bread.

How To Eat Like A Wrestler

In his interview with EatingWell, Cena expanded on his Breaducator position and talked not only about Nature’s Own, but also about His Own (hehe) preferences. When asked what city he thinks has the best bread, he listed several locations, including London (I love to see it!), Paris, San Diego, Budapest, Los Angeles, Tampa, and New York. He also gave an insight into what he prefers to order for breakfast, which he says is a “slice of sourdough with two perfect medium poached eggs and a 7-ounce flat white. That’s kind of my go-to. I’ll make that a breakfast that lasts like 90 minutes.” He also praises the virtues of a good breakfast baguette. We do too, John.

As for lunch, it’s a bit more of a meat-heavy affair for the star. “My favorite to make is sort of a hodgepodge cold cut sandwich, but Italian-style: turkey, turkey pepperoni, low-fat ham, Swiss cheese, tons of greens and lettuce on there, thick sliced tomato, pickle and a little spicy mustard,” he says. He’s keen to mention, too, that he pops all of these in between two slices of Nature’s Own Protein Wheat. The Breaducation never stops.

Buns Of Steel

Cena was also asked what type of bread he would be in the interview, and while he mentioned Protein Wheat again, his actual answer was a bit more…cheeky. “Boy, do I love some brioche buns. And after, you know, 40 years of doing squats, maybe I’ve curated a set of brioche buns. So I’ll go with brioche buns.” John, stop! You’re making us blush!

It’s not all about his lifestyle, though: Cena also finds a moment to express admiration for Nature’s Own’s mission to simplify its ingredients, and says that he’s proud to bear the Breaducator title. Hey. Someone’s gotta do it.
