Josh’s Pick: Olipop Classic Root Beer

I once went to a farmer’s market where a dreadlocked white woman was pouring shots of stank-ass fermented yogurt sludge, and she asked me to guess how many probiotics were in a single shot. Simply wanting to be done with the interaction, I blurted out “I dunno, 12?” She screamed, ”SEVEN BILLION!” That is when I found out I have no idea what a probiotic is, and also that some free samples are not worth the awkward social interactions. Luckily I don’t ever have to find out what a probiotic is because, thanks to Olipop, PRObiotics are out, and PREbiotics are in! Olipop is a prebiotic soda and, despite the fact that I also don’t know what prebiotic means and I refuse to google it, I can’t stop drinking this stuff. It’s got post-ironic retro branding, there are 9 grams of fiber in each can, it has about 30% the calories of a normal soda, and it tastes GOOD! I’ve tried a majority of the flavors at this point, but I keep coming back to the classic root beer. Friendship ended with kombucha; now Olipop is my best friend.
