KFC Is Serving Up “Boy Dinner” Buckets for $20

Girl Dinner is out; Boy Dinner is in. And we have Harry Styles to thank for that. The counterpart to girl dinner has been rumbling for a while, but it’s fair to say that it’s finally had its breakthrough moment, thanks to one of the most famous pop stars on the planet revealing to none other than Brittany Broski that he has his own version of it. And it’s chicken-based. “Boy dinner, I’ve discovered, is just eating a rotisserie chicken over the sink,” Styles stated in hisinterview with the social media star on her ultra-popular Royal Court YouTube series.

And with that, it was defined forevermore: From here on in, Boy Dinner will be known as low-effort, somewhat messy, and chicken-based. Well, KFC didn’t miss a beat when it figured all of that out. The chicken chain has moved swiftly and efficiently to jump on the trend, and is launching a $20 Build A Bucket meal that can be customized for all of your Boy Dinner needs. Here’s what to expect from this new menu item. 

You Won’t Even Need a Plate, People

KFC’s new Build A Bucket meal is all about taking away any anxiety about not getting what you want in your chicken dinner. For $20, you get eight of its on-the-bone chicken pieces, or eight Original Recipe Tenders; you get four sides of your choosing; you get four biscuits; and, if you’re getting tenders, you get four sauces. 

According to KFC, it’s all part of a bigger push for value and customization, which we’ve already seen in a lot of the restaurant’s 2026 plans. “We designed the $20 Build a Bucket to deliver generous portions with built-in flexibility,” said KFC US’s CMO Melissa Cash in its press release announcing the new deal. “It’s about delivering real abundance and real choice for solo meals and shared tables alike, without compromising on value.” Look, we like all of those things, so we’re in. In true Harry Styles fashion, you can haul this self-built bucket over to the sink and eat away to your heart’s content. You don’t even have to go anywhere else to wash your hands at the end. Oh, and if you’ve got any chicken leftover, you can use it to make some killer breakfast sliders. 

Don’t Get It Twisted

At the same time as announcing its Boy Dinner-inspired new menu offer, KFC also told the world that it’s bringing back the Twister. The dish will be returning in Classic form, and KFC is also throwing in a Bacon option too, if one type of meat just isn’t enough for ya (and as we all know, one of the fundamental laws of physics is that food + bacon = better food). You can also grab some extra sauce for your wrap by way of Zinger Sauce, if you want a spicy boost. Will this all be enough to lure you back into KFC?
