Kraft wowed me with their smoky barbecue-flavored mac and cheese several months ago, so I was very intrigued when Kraft announced another new limited edition flavor: pizza. I have fond memories of growing up with pizza-flavored Kraft Easy Mac (though I can’t find a definitive period of time it was available on shelves, I definitely remember growing up with it in the early 2000s). I can feel my childhood calling with this release and, thankfully, Kraft sent over a box for me to try. So, without further ado, let’s find out if the magic has been recreated or if Kraft should have stuck to the BBQ.

New Kraft Mac & Cheese!

Kraft Mac & Cheese Pizza Flavored Review

Pros: The pizza flavor is right on the money. You get Italian seasonings as well as notes of garlic and pizza sauce, which marry very well with the classic Kraft Mac & Cheese “cheesiness.“ When you get a hit of the pizza flavor, it is very solid.

Cons: You might have noticed I said, “when you get the pizza flavor,” and that’s unfortunately because it’s a bit weak. I want my mac and cheese to be flavor blasted with pizza flavor. Using flavor packets from two boxes of the mac and cheese with just one box worth of pasta did accomplish that result, but I shouldn’t have to buy two boxes just to have my mac and cheese be properly flavor blasted. While I love the creativity with new limited edition mac and cheese flavors from Kraft, I need the flavor to hit a lot more.

Verdict: Buy two boxes and throw both flavor packets in one pot of pasta if you want a full flavor experience.
