Ah, Dubai chocolate. The internet’s crunchy, crispy, chocolate-covered, green goo-filled baby. The tough-to-source and even tougher to make chocolate bar that’s taken the internet by storm over the past year or so. And even though the trend has sort of died down a bit by now, no one is denying that the life-changing combo of pistachio and chocolate deserves a spot at our grocery stores. As luck would have it, Dubai chocolate is finally coming to the U.S. in an utterly accessible way: the Lindt Dubai chocolate bar is back in stock, and it is hitting shelves at a bunch of major grocery stores as we speak.
Will it be crispy? Crunchy, even? Pistachio forward? Chocolate forward? Star Soccer Forward Megan Rapinoe?
So here’s the sitch as we know it: The Lindt Dubai chocolate bar was first released on the Swiss chocolate brand’s website in very limited quantities back in December 2024, and within 24 hours it had sold out. Initial reviews said that the bar didn’t have a strong enough pistachio flavor and that the chocolate was sort of the star of the show. This makes sense given that Lindt is all about their chocolate’s taste and texture, but still, I expect Dubai chocolate to give me four things: crispy, crunchy, pistachy, and chocolatey, and if it is missing any of those things, it is inferior in my book. That said, Lindt has supposedly reformulated the recipe since that first limited release, so it could be that we are in for a well-balanced treat with just the right amount of pistachio, at an affordable price of just under $15 (I mean affordable compared to other Dubai chocolate; we are aware that is not cheap for a chocolate bar). It’s available at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and Kroger literally right now.
So if you have been itching to hop on this trend and just hadn’t gotten around to it yet, you are in luck. The Lindt Dubai chocolate bar is available for purchase (anecdotally, a Sporked editor spotted it at her local Albertsons-owned grocery store) and is ready for us to determine if it is practically perfect in every way—or if this version of the bar is a Dubai-ous choice.
