Lindt is introducing two brand new oat milk chocolate bars, and other chocolate bars are quak(er)ing (Get it? Like Quaker Oats?). The oat milk bars are available now and contain oat milk made from gluten-free oats so that the bars are vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free. A win for chocoholics with any combination of those dietary restrictions!
These bars are the United States’ first-ever mass-produced, entirely plant-based “milk-style” chocolate bar coming from a prominent chocolate brand. And Lindt didn’t hold back either. These oat milk chocolate bars are supposed to have the same “rich flavor and smooth, creamy texture” as traditional Lindt chocolate. Not only that, but they come in two flavors: (just a straight-up oat milk chocolate bar) and , which contains “crunchy salted caramel pieces.”
Oh lordy, I may just have to buy a chocolate bar for the first time in years. I’m so curious to see if these actually live up to the promise of having the same “smooth, creamy texture” as original Lindt milk-based products. That’s a tall order considering Lindt notoriously makes some of the creamiest chocolates out there. They’ve set a high bar for those humble lil’ oats. But if anyone can do it, it’s Lindt. What’s next? Oat milk Lindt truffles? I certainly hope so—nothing beats a good Lindt ball. Not even the ones straight out of the dryer!
