- Liquid Death Orange Horror Sparkling Energy Review

Unlike other Liquid Death energy drinks, this has the perfect name… unfortunately. While this drink has a super-pleasant orange aroma, the flavor is downright scary. Liquid Death’s Orange Horror Energy suffers from a LaCroix-esque lack of flavor to cover up the lightly bitter sparkling aftertaste. Zero-sugar orange energy drinks are everywhere, so there’s little reason to settle for anything less than the best.

Strawberry is both hard to mess up and hard to polish; it’s no surprise this flavor sits on the line between “not good” and “good” in this ranking. No one will crack this open and end up disappointed, but the same number of people would put this at the top of the mountain of strawberry energy drinks: zero. (And there is a mountain–maybe that should be a ranking too…)

You don’t have to do much to get me on board with a pina colada energy drink. While some pina colada drinks are afraid to let coconut shine over the more popular pineapple, this balances the two flavors evenly… to the point that I now understand why other drinks focus on the fruit.

Despite not being labeled on the can, this flavor is labeled as “Cherry, Cream, Spice” on a few retail listings. What that collection of nouns actually translates to is a non-offensive, generic take on Dr Pepper. When I tried Liquid Death’s first four energy drink flavors at launch, I remember this being my favorite; today’s deep dive back into those flavors has reaffirmed that stance.

- Liquid Death Blood Zero Sparkling Energy Review
-
The newest Liquid Death Sparkling Energy drink is also the best. It hits you with a strong red raspberry flavor at first, then leaves an impressively creamy aftertaste for a sparkling energy drink. That flavor combination will come as a particular shock to anyone who, like me, read the flavor’s name and assumed Blood Zero translated to Blood Orange. Not even close! This Raspberry Cream energy drink is dead-on, but it takes a few sips to process that if you expected a harsh citrus and got a lightly tart berry & cream instead.
