One thing about Hi-C is that it’s gonna stick around, folks. Created in 1946, this fruit juice brand has been an old faithful through countless people’s lives (and for our money, it continues to make one of the best fruit punches out there) – but believe us when we say that the brand isn’t afraid of being front and center. A lot of the time, Hi-C can feel like an afterthought in the drinks world, but as of mid-2026, it’s decided that it’s time to take the spotlight.

It’s doing that, in a slightly unexpected way, by suddenly being placed on the menus at McDonald’s and Burger King at the same time, in the form of two new chilled drinks: Hi-C Orange Lavaburst Orange Dream at the former, and Hi-C Orange Lavaburst Freezee King at the latter. Let’s dig in.
Hi, Hi-C!
As @markie_devo reports over on everyone’s go-to photo-sharing app (by which we mean Instagram), Hi-C Orange Lavaburst drinks are now available at both restaurants. We’ve got:
McDonald’s Hi-C Orange Lavaburst Orange Dream
McDonald’s has turned Hi-C Orange Lavaburst into a dirty soda here, as part of its new refresher and dirty soda line. This one combines Orange Lavaburst with vanilla and sweet cold foam, for a Creamsicle effect that feels very in vogue right now. We’ve actually tried this drink already, and we were pretty big fans of it. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but the cold foam gives it a little bit more weight in the mouth, which adds to the Creamsicle vibe.
Oh, and in case you were worried, McDonald’s is still selling regular Hi-C Orange Lavaburst. Given that it’s already in stock, it only made sense to give it a bit more heft here.
Burger King Hi-C Orange Lavaburst Freezee King
Over at Burger King, they’ve turned Orange Lavaburst into a slushee. To be honest, this one looks way simpler than the McDonald’s drink: It’s just frozen Hi-C in a plastic cup. That’s not to say that it’s any less good – sometimes, the simplest version is often the best – but you also shouldn’t expect anything revolutionary. Maybe the restaurant’s had enough of innovating, given how much changing up of things is did earlier in the year, what with its new Whopper and all.
When Can I Try Both Of These Drinks?
Right now, baby, right now. The McDonald’s Hi-C Orange Lavaburst Orange Dream dropped yesterday on McD’s menus across the country, while the Burger King drink has also made an appearance in the last few days (albeit slightly more quietly). Where they differ, though, is in their permanence. The McDonald’s drink is now a regular menu item, while the Burger King one is a limited-edition one. Freezee fans, get it while it lasts.
