Momofuku, one of my favorite Asian noodle brands to make fun of and, because I’m a hypocrite, frequently purchase, has come out with a brand new flavor: Miso Sesame Noodles. (Sesame noodles? From Momofuku?! Groundbreaking.) I have no doubt these will taste good—the question is, will they be worth Momofuku’s higher price point? And are they unique enough to stand out from their brand’s current flavor roster?
For context: When I ranked all the Momofuku noodles last year, I learned that no matter what flavor they say their noodles will be, they’re bound to taste mostly like sesame. I’m not even necessarily mad about that, because I love sesame noodles (hence why I buy these), and the quality of their springy, fresh, air-dried noodles is hard to beat. In fact, this brand new flavor features a revamped thicker noodle—allegedly “chewier” and “more satisfying” than ever before. I’ll be the judge of that, Momofuku. (I can already hear David Chang saying, “Don’t be ridiculous. Everybody wants this.” Hush, David! I will be the judge!)

Thanks for highlighting the new noodles. I just tried them too. Along with their existing scallion noodles. Flavor good with both. However surprised to learn this new packaging has only four packs and barred of five. That makes this higher price point of noodle a lot more than previous.
