Mountain Dew HoneyDEW Is Finally Coming to the U.S.

In a year that was already pretty jam-packed with exciting releases for Mountain Dew (and a few discontinuations), we’ve learned that Mountain Dew still has a few more tricks up their sleeve for us in 2025.

THEY’RE BRINGING BACK EVERY DISCONTINUED FLAVOR OF MOUNTAIN DEW?

Okay maybe not that big of a trick (I’m still waiting for you to bring back Supernova, PepsiCo, I know you’re reading this). However, Pepsi is planning to bring the incredibly hard to find HoneyDEW to the United States this year. It’ll drop on shelves in July in 20-ounce bottles.

HoneyDEW? Tell me more

HoneyDEW, as the name implies, is a honeydew melon flavor of Mountain Dew! It was originally slated to release in the United States in 2023, but was scrapped for the return of fan favorite (and Sporked favorite) Pitch Black. HoneyDEW was only released for a limited time in Canada later that year (and is set to return later this year), making it a very sought-after flavor for die-hard Dew fans in the States.

For the last few years, our sources were very much under the impression that HoneyDEW would never get a release in the United States. So, this news comes as a very pleasant surprise! It’s a Mountain Dew Christmas in January miracle!

Where will I be able to find HoneyDEW?

According to snackfluencer Team Supernova, HoneyDEW is set to be an exclusive flavor at Maverik (a gas station in Western parts of the U.S.). Though rumors suggest that HoneyDEW may also be available at Meijer (Ohio/Michigan based grocery store) and Wawa (East Coast convenience store).

Whatever the case, it’ll certainly be easier to get your hands on HoneyDEW rather than either making a trek up to Canada or importing it. What’s more is that HoneyDEW will not be a limited time flavor. As long as it’s selling, the stores will continue to carry it.

Will it be available in zero sugar?

I hate that I always have to be the bearer of bad news. Unfortunately there is no zero sugar planned for this one.

Whether you were a fan of HoneyDEW when it was available in Canada or a fan of honeydew melons, or if you’re just someone who likes to try all of the new Mountain Dew flavors (aka me), this is certainly a release to get excited about. Don’t mind if I honeydew. (Why are you booing me?)

  • While it’s great that mountain dew is coming out with all these great new flavors, why won’t they be available in zero sugar ? Not everyone can drink a soda with 70 plus grams of sugar in it. I’m really disappointed !!

    • There was a Pitch Black vs. Baja and the winner( which was Pitch Black) was suppose to be a permanent option. It was only out for about a year in stores and maybe two years at Maverick.

  • I live in Salt Lake City, Utah prior to the Covid fiasco Smith’s foods now owned by Kroger marketed BigK Citrus Extreme diet. The sugared version is citrus drop
I’m curious if Smith’s/Kroger can bring it back. It was at least as good as diet Mountain Dew in my opinion do you know of any plans for the future all the stores had a hard time keeping it on the shelf it was so popular.

  • Love trying all the new Mt. Dew flavors, and wondering why the orginal Sour Grape Pitch Black hasn’t been brought back.

  • Pitch Black needs to be a permanent flavor already 🍇

    • It was suppose to be. They had a contest between Pitch Black and Baja stating the winner would become a permanent drink. Pitch Black won, but was only brought back for about a year.

  • I never tried pitch black myself but it is consensus that it is most people’s favorite Mtn. Dew.. with that being said I would rather have a pitch black but also because I hate the taste of honeydew. Plus none of the melon flavors have ever really done too well on the mountain dew market.. everybody wanted pitch black back nobody wanted honeydew. Everybody were even making memes about major melon being Barbie and pitch black being Oppenheimer. Mountain dew does not listen to its fans. That’s why most of their flavors have failed.. that’s why their company is failing because they don’t give the consumer the the flavors they want. They discontinue fan favorites that are doing better than the regular lineup and then putting in crap that no one wants
