Late last year, the Mtn Dew-nizens of the internet were blessed with the news of a new flavor coming in mid-2024: Mtn Dew Infinite Swirl, whose aggressively-bright label advertised it as being “Pineapple Berry” flavored. Exclusive to the 7-Eleven family of stores (7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes’), you won’t have to wait long to try this new flavor. According to our sources; Mtn Dew Infinite Swirl is expected to hit shelves on June 17th. But we got our hands on it early to give our review.

This new Mtn Dew flavor has some big shoes to fill, considering how fanatical some people became about the last exclusive flavor this chain offered: Mtn Dew Spark. After two years of on-again-off-again availability only at Speedway, Spark gained a wider release in 2022. Sporked’s Mtn Dew ranking put both the regular and zero sugar variants of Spark in the top five, while Rhett & Link gave Spark the number one spot overall in their own Mtn Dew ranking just last year! In hindsight, losing the exclusive rights to that highly-acclaimed raspberry lemonade flavor could be called a fumble; trying to replace it could be disastrous. Let’s get into the review.

New Mtn Dew!

Mtn Dew Infinite Swirl

While this flavor hasn’t even been officially announced yet, I was invited to an “in-the-know” tasting event held earlier this month—the first public sampling of this flavor in the entire country—just a few minutes away from my house. Living in the Midwest comes with so many fringe benefits, y’all. Now, let’s get to the center of this “infinite swirl” once and for all.

Pros: I love every pineapple Mtn Dew flavor. My all-time favorite Mtn Dew flavor is the Dollar General-exclusive Maui Burst, which is truly just pineapple—no Baja theming or secondary fruit to get in the way of a good thing. While Infinite Swirl won’t be usurping that top spot for me personally, I am definitely a fan. I’m not sure what berry they’re going for here (the label hints at strawberry, but the soda’s actual color is blue), but it’s a nice secondary note to that primary pineapple punchiness. As a flavor, pineapple can often feel too acidic for some people; if that’s a concern of yours, you can rest easy with this one.

Cons: Now, I do like my pineapple on the acidic side. I wish this new Mtn Dew flavor had more of that tongue-burning sensation I get from drinking straight pineapple juice. I can’t complain too much, though; I understand I’m probably an outlier in wanting pineapple sodas to hurt a little bit.

  • I will only try it if it has zero sugar. There’s only been 4 zero sugar ones that I’ve seen. Regular mnt dew, baja blast, major melon, and spark.. They are the ones that run out at the stores first. That goes to show more people drink it.

  • I’m looking forward to trying Infinite Swirl but I don’t understand why Mountain Dew doesn’t make Code Red in zero sugar! They come out with these new flavors in zero sugar, so why not Code Red?!

    • It is a thing. The store I work at just had some in. See if your local store can talk to their Pepsi Rep about bringing it in.
