The wait is finally over for new Mountain Dew Mango Rush. The “Mango Sweet Heat” flavor of Mountain Dew just debuted exclusively at Little Caesars locations nationwide on May 5th. The Mountain Dude blessed us with some early cans of Mountain Dew Mango Rush, so we were able to give it an early taste. Find out whether it’s worth rushing over to your local Little Caesars, or if you should skip it and just order Domino’s instead.
New Mountain Dew!
Mountain Dew Mango Rush
Pros: Fans familiar with 2016’s Game Fuel Mango Heat will assuredly draw comparisons from Mango Rush to Mango Heat. The biggest difference is Mango Heat’s inclusion of artificial sweeteners. So if nothing else, I think Mango Rush is a few steps up from Mango Heat. If you were concerned that Mango Rush would be very spicy a la Mountain Dew Flamin’ Hot, fear not. The heat in Mango Rush is quite tame. Although I do think it slowly builds a little other time, I would not rate it higher than a 1 or 1.5 out of 10 on the heat scale. The “Sweet Heat” flavor definitely meshes very well with the mango.
Cons: It may feel odd considering I just listed the lack of heat as a pro (and I do sincerely mean that as I know it will be a pro for a lot of people), but I’ve got to list the lack of heat as a con, as well. The label art features mangos on fire so I was expecting the heat level to be a little bit higher. I don’t think that Mango Rush needed to be Flamin’ Hot levels of spicy, but I would have loved to see PepsiCo turn up the dial another notch or two.
