Late last year, I broke the unfortunate news that Mountain Dew VooDEW (the annually changing mystery flavor) would NOT be returning in 2025. Instead, I learned that Mountain Dew would be teaming up with Trolli to release a cherry-lemon flavor based on Trolli gummy candy. And now, I’ve got updates—good news and bad news. Here’s all the new details on the Halloween Mountain Dew release.

The Bad News? No Full Sugar Mountain Dew Trolli Cherry-Lemon

Despite original reports indicating that Mountain Dew Trolli Cherry-Lemon would be available in both full sugar and zero sugar, it appears that a change has been made. Sources have told Team Supernova that the upcoming Trolli-Mountain Dew flavor will only be available in zero sugar—there will be no full sugar version. (For those keeping score at home, this is the first time  since 2009’s Diet Ultra Violet that a new Mountain Dew release did not feature a full sugar version.)

The Good News? Mountain Dew-Flavored Trolli Candy

In addition to the new Mountain Dew drink created in collaboration with Trolli, several reports, including one from our own Griffin Parker over on SodaSeekers, tell us we’re also getting Mountain Dew-flavored Trolli gummy candy! These new Trolli candies will be available in three different Mountain Dew-inspired flavors: Original Citrus, Original Citrus Cherry, and Original Citrus Blue Raspberry (likely referencing Original Dew, Code Red, and Voltage). While we don’t have a release date on these yet, we assume they will drop around the same time as the drink, which should be in September!

Although it may not be VooDew, there’s plenty of reason to be excited for this collaboration, no matter how you like to consume your Dew.

  • Well that sucks, no voodoo, no Supernova. Must be some idiot in a suit and tie making these dumb decisions. Plus you want to get rid of purple thunder that we couldn’t keep on the shelves. How dumb.

  • Well that’s stupid on two fronts. First getting rid of Voodew and only releasing the gummy worms flavor in Zero Sugar. Zero sugar has aspertame in it and my wife is highly allergic to it so we do not buy zero sugar drinks because of that.

  • Voodoo was good and the other flavors they tried at Halloween was not good. I only drink Pepsi, caffeine free Pepsi, code red. You took away the other flavors that was good.
Pepsi lime, nitro Pepsi, and now voodoo. I am not happy
