Earlier this year, the geniuses behind Nerds Gummy Clusters had a crazy idea: what if they were full of juice? The resulting candy creation won them the “Most Innovative” award at the National Confectioners Association’s annual Sweets & Snacks Expo. Tyler Bowers and I were at that very event; I can personally confirm this launch was a hot topic. It looks like these are hitting shelves soon, so let’s get into the juicy details of this new variant…of a variant of a variant. What a complicated lineage.
How are they fitting juice into a Nerds Gummy Cluster?
Simple! They’re making the Nerds Gummy Clusters approximately three times larger to accommodate the new juice inclusion. Frankly, I think they could have gotten a little more money out of people with this innovation if they marketed it differently. “Nerds Jumbo Gummy Clusters” would have caused riots in the candy aisle even without adding juice. (There’s still time, Nerds; I’ll only ask for a few cents from every dollar sold.)
When do Nerds Juicy Gummy Clusters come out?
While there’s no official release date just yet, a listing for Nerds Juicy Gummy Clusters went live on Walmart.com in the last few weeks. Everything I heard at Sweets & Snacks Expo suggested that these would hit shelves by the end of the year. There isn’t too much year left, and this isn’t a particularly “holiday” launch; I have a feeling we’ll see these in stores very soon.
How many flavors of Nerds Gummy Clusters are there?
While Nerds Juicy Gummy Clusters will only launch in a single Strawberry Punch flavor, Nerds Gummy Clusters have actually launched quite a few flavors in their short history. To date, we’ve had Very Berry, Rainbow, Berry Punch Rush, Grape Strawberry Blitz, and Cherry Lemonade Blitz (not to mention the Frosty and Spooky variants for their respective holiday seasons). I got an early taste of the newest flavor, Cherry Lemonade Blitz, back at Sweets & Snacks Expo 2025 where the topic of today’s piece was first revealed.
