Hey, y’all. It’s me, Jessica. I am, what they call in the biz, a food writer. By proxy, that makes me a professional food taster. Aren’t we all professional food tasters by virtue of being people? Yeah, we kind of are. Do any of us truly have free will or are we just walking bundles of chemical reactions bumper-carring through each other’s lives? Who can say. But I digress. My point is that as a professional food taster (and a bumper car made of neurons), it is my exceedingly professional opinion that Nerds Gummy Clusters are underrated and are one of the best candies out there, if not THE best. And yes, the best candy on the market right now just blessed us with two new Nerds Gummy Clusters flavors.
What are the two new Nerds Gummy Clusters flavors? Why are these so important to you? Are you okay?
Yes, thank you, I’m thriving. Why? Because Nerds Gummy Clusters already came in two flavors: a rainbow of all the Nerds flavors with a gummy red licorice inside (much like a bite-sized, less-embarrassing-to-eat-in-public version of the Nerds Rope), and a flavor called Very Berry, which looks a lot like the OG rainbow flavor but with Nerds that are only pink, purple, and blue (as opposed to the whole rainbow). Now we are getting two more flavors from the purveyors of the single best candy out there, and those new Nerds Gummy Clusters flavors are: Grape Strawberry Blitz and Berry Punch Rush.
At first glance, it would seem that all flavors of gummy cluster share the same red chewy center but differ in the make-up of the Nerds clinging to the chewy center. The Grape and Strawberry looks just like one might expect: a bite-sized, gummy-filled version of those double-sided packs of grape and strawberry Nerds that one kid always had at the public pool. The Berry Punch Rush looks almost Bomb Pop-inspired, boasting red, white, and blue Nerds. The flavor is a bit unclear. Could be bomb pop, for sure, but it could also be berry pie, America, or flag. We’ll just have to see!
Both Grape Strawberry Blitz and Berry Punch Rush will only be available for a limited time, and while we don’t know exactly how long that time is, we do know the packaging has tailgate- and football-related images and copy on it (also realizing just now that “rush” and “blitz” are probably football things—as a professional, I definitely should have caught that sooner, apologies). But whether you are here for the football or the near-religious experience that is housing a bag of Nerds Gummy Clusters, these bad boys are hitting stores nationwide as we speak. So if you too are a connoisseur of all things nerdy, gummy, and crunchy, get out there and let us know what you think!
