Burger King’s most iconic menu item has been upgraded. No, I’m not talking about the Crossan’wich or those greasy little French toast sticks (those are perfect as-is)—I’m talking about the Burger King Whopper. Now you can “have it your way,” particularly if your way is…“better,” I suppose.

What’s new and improved about the new and improved Whopper?
I don’t eat a lot of fast food burgers (kinda like McDonald’s CEO, am I right?), but when I do, I’m a Whopper guy. I love that you can smell Burger King a block away, I love the flavor of their flame-broiled patties, and, I have to admit, I kinda love the sheer amount of mayonnaise they put on their hamburgers. Like, sure, if you’re gonna go for it, really go for it. What I’m saying is, Whoppers pretty much rule—so what did they fix?
Here’s how the Whopper is different according to the brand:
- A better tasting bun. No details, just better tasting.
- It comes in a box now. I guess they came in a paper wrapper before? I’d never really thought about it!
- Better tasting mayo. If the mayo tasted bad before, I neglected to noticed, but, admittedly, I’m pretty mayo-positive.
I tried the new Whopper and here’s what I thought.
