How do you mark an anniversary? With flowers? With romantic chocolates? With a trip away with your beloved? Well, those might work when you’re celebrating your first couple of years with someone – but when you get to the big 250, things start to look a bit different. We’re talking, of course, about America’s upcoming anniversary: On July 4th, the nation will mark the United States semiquincentennial, the 250th birthday of the Declaration of Independence, and thus, its birthday. And in true all-American fashion, that will be celebrated with Coca-Cola.

That’s if Coke has anything to do with it, anyway. The drinks company is currently ramping up its Collect The Country campaign, during which it will be releasing limited-edition Coke cans, with one for each state. Here’s what to expect.
A Collector’s Dream
Coke’s Collect The Country campaign is basically an enormous prize draw: For the next couple of months, state-themed cans of mini Coke will be popping up around the country (including, as you might expect, in your state!). Alongside this, you can enter into a sweepstakes online to win some fabulous prizes!
Coke’s giving away a bunch of collectible pins here, but if you’re lucky, you might win yourself a Jeep Wrangler, or one of several all-expenses-paid trips. You don’t even have to buy one of the cans to enter; it’s free. A free Jeep? We’re in. One of the big points of this sweepstake, though, is to promote its new limited-edition cans, which it’s clearly invested a lot of time in.
And What About Those Cans? What Do They Look Like?
Well, unsurprisingly, they have a pretty patriotic vibe. “Each image celebrates something that is unique and special to that state/district/territory, bringing it to life by cleverly incorporating Coca-Cola imagery into the design,” said a Coke representative to Nexstar, reported via KTLA 5.
So, for California, you can expect an image of a surfer; Philadelphia gets the Liberty Bell; Wisconsin is celebrated with a block of cheese emblazoned on each can. Elsewhere, the designs might feel a little bit harder to identify for folks who don’t live in the states themselves. North Dakota’s image, for example, is a mountain laurel, which is its state flower.
Coca-Cola’s Collect The Country Campaign and its accompanying cans represent its biggest moves so far this year. It’s not that Coke’s been quiet – Coke’s never really that quiet – but after the flurry of activity towards the end of 2025, which saw it bring back flavors like Diet Cherry Coke and Diet Coke Lime, it’s been taking things a little bit easier. Now, though, it’s positioning itself front and center for the semiquincentennial. We’d imagine a lot more food companies will be getting involved in the next few months, too.
