Costco’s in-house food parlor doesn’t change that often (even though this year, it started altering how it operates), and when new menu items show up, they typically do without any prior announcement. So it’s always an exciting day when it happens. Especially when they look as good as the Double Chocolate Mint Sundae.

Big Ol’ Costco Shopping Session? Refresh Your Palette With This Minty Sundae

Costco’s Double Chocolate Mint Sundae hasn’t appeared in all Costco locations just yet, but it looks like it’s rolling out fairly quickly. It’s the most expensive sundae on Costco’s food court menu, priced at $2.99 – but that’s not exactly breaking the bank, and it’s only $0.50 more than its regular ice cream sundae. (Honestly, we shudder to think how much money Costco loses on its food court, but that’s just by the by.)

For your money, you get a lot of flavor. The Double Chocolate Mint Sundae starts with a big ol’ base of mint ice cream, and then drizzles it with chocolate sauce. It finishes the cup off with a scattering of cookie crumbles, which also look like they include little chocolate pieces. Maybe it’s just ‘cos I’m writing this close to lunch time, but is anyone else really hungry right now? Mint and chocolate for just $2.99…I’m sold.

The Reviews Are In: The Double Chocolate Mint Sundae’s a Winner

It’s early days for the Double Chocolate Mint Sundae, but judging by what people who have already tried it are saying, this item could be around for a while. A separate post from @costconewdeals, which profiled the sundae in video form, dubbed it a 10/10. Food influencer Morgan Chomps, meanwhile, discussed how well the chocolate and the mint ice cream go together, calling the sundae “a solid offering for March.” We can only hope that it makes it that long, but we have a sneaking suspicion that it’ll be around for a good few months yet.

Costco’s far from the only food business jumping on the Thin Mints train this year, either. Wendy’s recently announced that its Thin Mints Frosty is back, taking the iconic Girl Scout Cookie flavor and, like Costco, combining it with ice cream. Girl Scouts of the USA has also just teamed up with Miss Jones Baking Co. to release new Girl Scout Cookie Baking Mixes, which include, as you’d expect, a Thin Mints flavor. Oh, and then there’s the Shamrock Shake of it all. There’s no escaping the combo of mint and chocolate over the next few weeks, people, so you may as well just accept it.
