Last year, Crush asked us to remember the ‘80s with its retro Back to the 80s Electric Blue Razz Soda. Now, according to a leak we received from a reliable source, they’re dropping another retro soda inspired by a different decade: the ‘90s. Get ready for Crush Back to the 90s Tropical Punch.

What is Crush Back to the 90s Tropical Punch?

Here’s what the brand has to say about this new Crush flavor, according to the leaked promotional materials we received: “This summer we’re bringing the ‘90s back —bold, different, and unforgettable, just like our new Crush Tropical Punch. Bursting with throwback vibes and tropical flavor, it’s nostalgia with a twist. Get ready to sip the decade.”

It’s a “tropical” soda that, from the pictures, looks to be a vibrant salmon color. The can and label on the plastic bottle are both a totally classic ‘90s color: tea! Remember teal? It was everywhere. It was scribbled onto our waxy cups, on the sleeves of our windbreakers, in our Saved by the Bell opening credits. Everywhere! Currently, it’s my favorite part of this new retro Crush flavor.

As for what it will actually taste like? Only time will tell. Crush has made fruit punch before—but never tropical punch, as far as I can tell. If I had to guess, I’d say this new Crush punch will be a mix of orange and pineapple—because Crush already makes those flavors—though the color of the soda indicates that there could be some guava in the mix. Guava is very in right now, if not particularly ‘90s in nature.

Side note regarding the advertising: If Crush doesn’t license 1998’s “Crush” by Jennifer Paige to promote this soda, I will be very disappointed.

When is this new Crush flavor coming out?

Per the leaked materials, we should be expecting this new Crush flavor to come out on July 13, 2026. Yes, we have an actual date. A rarity for new soda leaks!

How reliable is this intel?

I have never been steered wrong by this source. I’d put good money on Crush Back to the 90s Tropical Punch hitting shelves by August.

Hi! I’m the editor-in-chief of Sporked. I will never turn down a fresh-shucked oyster but I’ll also leap at whatever new product Reese’s releases and I love a Tostitos Hint of Lime, even if there is no actual lime in the ingredients. Why you should trust me: I have been writing about food and beverages for well over a decade and am an avid at-home cook and snacker. I began my career writing about fine dining and recipes, moved into cocktails and spirits, and now I talk about groceries. If you can eat it or drink it, I’ve probably written about it. What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s dried okra. Appleton Farms prosciutto from Aldi. Some sort of Trader Joe’s cheese (I’m into the aged gouda at the moment). Frozen waffles (usually the Eggo Cinnamon Toast Minis). Spindrift water (loving the Cosmopolitan right now). Favorite ranking: Smoked salmon. Imagine me as Scrooge McDuck but instead of coins I’m diving into a vault of slippery smoked salmon slices. Pure joy. I also found some real steals in that taste test! Least favorite ranking: Canned oysters. I had such high hopes for this but it quickly became a chore. The kitchen smelled like an uncleaned aquarium.
