Some fast food chains can’t stand the thought of you customizing their drinks. Sonic is not one of those chains. The drive-in restaurant has arguably made its name on the frankly wild amount of drinks it offers, and the extent to which you can tweak and tailor them to your heart’s content.
In 2026, in addition to shaking up its fast food, it’s ploughing full steam ahead with its drinks options. Over on Instagram, our favorite snack account @snackwire has just dropped 10 new custom drinks that you can sample at your local Sonic, in addition to its new Reese’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake. Ready for your new favorite tailor-made beverage?
Sonic’s New Custom Drinks:
Barq’s Buttery Brew
Barq’s Root Beer, mixed with vanilla cream and caramel syrup. We’re talking spicy, sweet, and smooth, all in one.
Caramel + Green Apple Cream Slush
Spruce up your Green Apple Slush with caramel drizzle and a pump of cream. This one’s gonna feel like Halloween’s come early.
Cookie Monster
This one’s a strange little flex, but we dig it. An Oreo Blast with added cookie dough and a touch of blue coconut. Topped with a swirl of whipped cream, and Oreo & cookie dough bites. Lot going on here, but you’d expect nothing less from Sonic.
Cotton Candy
Ocean Water mixed with vanilla, raspberry, and cream. The whole thing is sweet, tart, smooth, and bright blue. All of our favorite things.
Key Lime Pie
Limeade Slush is perked up even more with twisted lime syrup, and it’s topped with a lime wedge—oh, and you can add sweet cream if you want. We do want. Get us this one, now.
Mermaid Water
This one starts with a base of water (well, the clue’s in the name), to which strawberry, lemon, raspberry, and peach flavors are added. A summer smash, if ever we heard one.
Mounds Coffee
An iced coffee or cold brew, mixed with sweet cream and coconut. This’ll be a sprightly way to start your day, and we bet it’d be better than any store bought iced coffee out there.
Peach Ring
Like Mermaid Water, we begin with water here—and then peach, raspberry, and cranberry are stirred through. It’s topped with a lemon wedge. Why do we feel like this might be even better than the gummy candy?
Shark Bite
This dramatically-named drink consists of Ocean Water, vanilla cream, and strawberry. It’s also due to come with a shark gummy on top, which is, devastatingly, not available at the moment.
Sprite Cranberry Cream Slush
Sonic’s keeping it easy with its last addition. Sprite, sweet cream, and cranberry. Basically exactly what it says it is.
When Are The New Sonic Drinks Available?
Right now, baby—but it’ll all depend on where you are, as availability isn’t across the board just yet. In some places, you might have to give them the recipe. Feel free to use this page when you do.
