Doritos loves to innovate. They do it constantly. Ironically, I would personally argue that their best innovations were the first two flavors they ever made, Original Taco Flavor and Nacho Cheese. Nonetheless, they have given us many, many more Doritos flavors to choose from since then and a lot of them are delicious and totally unique. In fact, the top flavor in Sporked’s Doritos ranking is the rather contemporary Tapatio Doritos. The point is it shouldn’t shock anyone when I say there is a new Doritos flavor on the way, this time with red, white, and blue fireworks adorning the package for…Memorial Day? Fourth of July? No reason at all? Here’s everything we know about the brand new Twisted Queso Doritos.

Twisted Queso? What do you mean by that, Doritos?

Who’s to say what Doritos means by “twisted”? Is this queso flavor a twist on their original chip? Is this chip two flavors twisted together? The truth is not evident here, but according to snack expert @Snackolator on Instagram, fans are saying the new flavor tastes like a mix of Cool Ranch and queso. I always thought the bright red and blue flecks on Cool Ranch Doritos were oddly patriotic, so I guess it’s only right that they’d be a part of the Memorial Day/Fourth of July chip.

When are the Twisted Queso Doritos going to hit the shelves?

Twisted Queso Doritos are set to hit stores this month. Although there is no specific launch date, you can expect them to start popping up in the next week. As with many new Doritos flavors, this one is a limited edition release that will last only a few months. If the word on the street is correct, and these taste like Cool Ranch Doritos dipped in queso, I’ll be buying a bag every time I see one.
