Ghirardelli’s New Brownie Mix Is a First for the Chocolate Company

It’s brownie season, baby. Okay – every season is brownie season, but let us have our fun. If you’re in the mood to bust out your brownie pan in the coming weeks, we’ve got a treat for ya: There’s a new brownie mix on the block that promises to make your baked goodies even more luscious. Fancy chocolatier Ghirardelli might be better known for its slightly more upmarket candy, but it’s also got a range of brownie mixes – and now it’s got a brand new flavor for us all.

What Is Ghirardelli’s New Brownie Mix?

Ghirardelli’s Premium Milk Chocolate Brownie Mix is a new flavor that adds to its existing line of mixes, which include Dark Chocolate (and a gluten-free version of the same flavor), Double Chocolate, Triple Chocolate, Ultimate Chocolate, and Chocolate Supreme. Lot of chocolate, huh? Where this one differs, though, is that it’s leaning right into what the company does best. Ghirardelli has never offered a milk chocolate flavor for its brownie products, and now, it aims to give you the flavor of its iconic chocolate in gooey baked form. The brownies are infused with a vanilla note, and will come with the brand’s chocolate chips, to bake right on in there. 

We can’t say we’re unhappy about it: We’re a big fan of Ghirardelli’s brownie mixes already. In our taste test of the best boxed brownie mixes, the brand’s Double Chocolate flavor came second, with a 10/10 Sporks rating – and trust us, that is high praise. It was pipped to the post by King Arthur Gluten Free Ultimate Fudge Brownie Mix in case you were wondering. 

When Will This New Mix Be Available?

Well, you know what? It’s out now. So far, Ghirardelli’s Premium Milk Chocolate Brownie Mix has been spotted in H-E-B and Kroger, where it’s priced at around $4.25. However, it should be going to even more stores and retailers in the coming weeks, including Target, where Ghirardelli may have a big rollout planned. Keep your ear to the ground, and your eyes on the chocolate. Er, sorry, we mean prize. Eyes on the prize. 

What Else Has Ghirardelli Been Up To?

Quite a bit, actually. The brand has had a busy start to the year, and has, in classic chocolate company fashion, been jumping on trends and holidays as they’ve come along. For Valentine’s Day, it promoted its Chocolockets, 14K gold-plated lockets that each had a square of Ghirardelli chocolate inside. Talk about a fancy way to say “I love you,” huh? Then, just a few weeks back, it brought out its new cookie-infused chocolate bunnies, juuust in time for Easter. If you haven’t sorted your candy for the next few days yet, here’s your reminder.
