Forget the turkey; the only important thing at Thanksgiving is the side dishes. Green bean casserole is a good option, mashed potatoes, obviously, but the bread and stuffing are the dime pieces. Let me tell you about cornbread stuffing. It’s easily one of the most delicious sides that will always outdo your regular ass bread stuffing.

A couple years ago, my family and I decided to get a little creative with Thanksgiving and focus only on the good stuff—stuffing and sides. I made a meat stuffing, my brother went the classic route with boxed stuffing, and my sister busted out cornbread stuffing. Now, I’m thinking she’s gonna grab the Jiffy box because that’s what our family is accustomed to. She decides to use Krusteaz Honey Cornbread Mix. I had never tried it before, so naturally I was a little skeptical. Let me tell you something: Fresh out of the oven, this was one of the most moist, savory and honey filled bites i’ve ever had. This cornbread reminds me of a cupcake. It’s soft, cakey, and the perfect base for any stuffing. It’s incredibly affordable, plus it has a good balance of corn flavor and sweetness. If you’re the new girlfriend at Thanksgiving, I’m telling you, bust out this cornbread mix by itself or in your next stuffing to have the family saying, “ DAMN GIRL! I see you!”
