The Girl Scouts are tiny confectionery entrepreneurs, decked out in green sashes and khaki vests, building a cookie empire one cute little stand outside your local Kroger at a time. They are the future, the past, and everything in between. And while I respect their hustle, when I say I am a fan of Girl Scout cookies, I am absolutely referring only to Thin Mints and Samoas/Caramel deLites. I find all the other GSCs to be decent, but those two will always be the undisputed best in my heart. So when I heard there was a new Girl Scout Cookie coming in 2023, I was so frickin’ stoked to find out it’s going to be just like the Thin Mint…with a twist.
So, what do I mean when I say this new Girl Scout cookie will be like the Thin Mint, but a little different?
Well, my friend, on the outside, the new cookie looks very similar to a Thin Mint—a dark chocolate-coated disc with those characteristic little indents. But there’s a key difference: On the inside, it is NEON PINK! Why would this new mystery cookie be pink, you ask? BECAUSE IT IS RASPBERRY-FLAVORED, MY DUDES. Seriously. Why would I lie to you about this? According to the Girl Scouts organization, the new “Raspberry-Rally” cookie will be just like a Thin Mint but “infused with raspberry flavor instead of mint, and dipped in the same delicious chocolaty coating.”
So next GSC season, we are going to have a chocolate raspberry-flavored version of the Thin Mint and it will be pink inside? What’s next, will they make the original Thin Mints green inside? And will they release orange-colored, orange-flavored Thin Mints? Whatever happens, I’m happy. Thin Mints are one of the few cookies I can eat an entire sleeve of in one sitting. They cause me to release my inhibitions—much like a good dance party or feeling the rain on my skin. So the more versions, the merrier.
As there is with all good things, there is one catch: These new Girl Scout cookies will be the first flavor to be sold exclusively online, apparently as part of a plan to give the Girl Scouts a chance “to learn new skills and build their eCommerce business.” Wow. Little girls getting into eCommerce? We really are living in the future. Way to girlboss, Girl Scouts.
If you’re really desperate to try these new cookies, you can enter the sweepstakes to be one of the first people to try them. Or, you could just hold a (raspberry-)rally in an attempt to get Girl Scout cookie season moved earlier or extended to the entire year. I would for sure attend, provided there will be plenty of Thin Mints.
