We got a special delivery in the mail the other day: a silver zip-lock package containing three white, largely unmarked bags of M&M’s. They’re the three brand-spankin-new M&M’s flavors: Cherry Chocolate Cupcake, Lemon Meringue Pie, and Peanut Butter Cinnamon Roll, and they aren’t hitting stores until January 2026. See. I told you it was a special delivery.
When it finally comes out, the so-called Bakery Collection will be part of a voting campaign—scan the QR code on the packet, vote for your favorite, and that flavor will stick around longer than the others. I know which flavor will be getting my vote. Read on to find out.
New M&M’s!
M&M’s Cherry Chocolate Cupcake
Pros: If you like the flavor of chocolate-covered cherries and you like M&M’s, you’ll probably like these. They’re roughly the size of Peanut Butter M&M’s, minus any filling. It’s all chocolate in there.
Cons: I mean, I guess when I see an M&M this size, I expect there to be something going on inside. Give me a chewy little cupcake morsel! I’d love that! But no. The interior of the candy is just Mars chocolate infused with a lightly medicinal cherry flavor. I wouldn’t rush out for these. The flavor is reminiscent of the Easter Sundae M&M’s that came out last year, but those were much tastier.

New M&M’s!
M&M’s Peanut Butter Cinnamon Roll
Pros: The main pro here is that these are Peanut Butter M&M’s and Peanut Butter M&M’s rule. They’re nice and plump, the chocolate-to-peanut butter ratio is perfect, and the peanut butter itself is smooth and luscious rather than grainy and dry.
Cons: I’ve never actually seen a peanut butter cinnamon roll in the wild. I’m aware that there are recipes online, but it’s not a concept I’m familiar with and I think that might be because it doesn’t totally work. Likewise, this M&M’s flavor didn’t work for me. The cinnamon is there, but, like, should it be? Ultimately, a variation should improve upon the genuine article, and I don’t think that’s the case here. I’d take a regular ol’ Peanut Butter M&M over one of these anyday.

New M&M’s!
M&M’s Lemon Meringue Pie
Pros: Listen, I don’t think these Lemon Meringue Pie M&M’s necessarily channel lemon meringue pie, but I sure like ‘em. Each one has a nugget of crispy rice in the center that’s surrounded by a layer of white chocolate that’s infused with a pleasant lemony flavor and a cheerful, bright yellow candy shell. They’re nice and light and I love the way the white chocolate tastes with citrus in the mix. Don’t worry, this isn’t a lemon bathroom cleanser flavor; it’s really mild and keeps you coming back for more.
Cons: For accuracy’s sake, they could have made the crunchy nugget in the middle out of something that’s more reminiscent of pie crust, but I also love the crunch of the crispy rice, so I’ll deal. I also think the lemon flavor could be tangier to truly channel the lemon custard in a lemon meringue pie. Lastly, some people really have no use for white chocolate—if you’re one of them, you’re out of luck.

Which new M&M’s flavor do you see yourself voting for?
Howdy! I’m Gwynedd, Sporked’s managing editor. I live in Los Angeles and have access to the best tacos the U.S. has to offer—but I’m a sucker for a crunchy Old El Paso taco night every now and then. I’ve been at Sporked since 2022 and I’m still searching frozen mozzarella sticks that can hold a candle to restaurant sticks.
Why you should trust me: I’ve been a journalist for 20 years (yikes), a consumer of food for 40-plus years, and I’m truly hard pressed to think of foods I don’t like (or that I can’t tolerate at the very least). Oh and one time I cooked my way through Guy Fieri’s cookbook and wrote about the journey through Flavortown.
What I buy every week: Trader Joe’s Original Savory Thins. Fat free plain yogurt (usually Fage or Nancy’s). Honeycrisp apples. Sweet cream coffee creamer for my at-home Americanos. A frozen cauliflower crust pizza and some jarred mushrooms to top it with. Old El Paso Stand ‘N Stuff taco shells and Gardein Ground Be’f, even though I think “be’f” is a nightmarish contraction.
Favorite ranking: Stouffer’s frozen dinners. I don’t own a microwave (I get my cancers the old fashioned way!), so I love taste testing things that I don’t really buy to eat at home.
Least favorite ranking: Soy sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love soy sauce—but consuming that much sodium in one sitting is probably illegal in some countries. Our frozen enchilada taste test was a close second; the smell of microwaved corn tortillas still haunts me.
