New Milano Cookies Are Coming! White Chocolate Milanos, to Be Exact

Let’s be real: Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies are the “It” girl of the cookie aisle. They looked at all of those round and rectangular cookies and said, “Oh honey, no.” For some reason, Milanos remind me of grand pianos, flip phones, and playing cards in their sleekness. They are cookie chic. And I realize that’s a little insane to say about something that is, let’s face it, a cookie, but hey, you tell me: What kind of cookie is a Milano, actually?

Best I figure, they are oblong butter cookies stuck together with an ultra-thin layer of chocolate in the middle, but they don’t quite have enough filling to be considered sandwich cookies. Even the packaging kind of throws its hands up and says it contains 15 “distinctive cookies.” But do not mistake my philosophizing for complaining—oh no, I like these little mystery-shrouded enigma ovals a great deal and if you, like me, are a fan of the marvelous Milanos that have long graced our grocery store shelves, hold on to your horses, your hair, and your Henry VIII (Shakespeare’s version) because three new Milano flavors are coming our way starting this month, and here’s the kicker: They aren’t chocolate flavored.

No chocolate?!? Then what will the new Milano cookies be?

Don’t you fret, you Milano-loving person, you. These may not have chocolate chocolate in the middle, but they will have white chocolate infused with three different fruit flavors: Lemon, Strawberry, and Coconut. How awesome do those flavors sound? I’ll answer that for you—pretty darn awesome. Imagine a tart, sweet, crunchy lemon white chocolate Milano? Ugh, I want these in my pantry, like, yesterday. These new flavors look like a Milan(o) bucks and we truly cannot wait to try them.

Also, it should be noted that this is huge news for Milano, whose portfolio includes only seven flavors (12 if you include limited edition and seasonal flavors, like those London Fog Milanos we loved so much). Adding these three new Milano flavors into the mix means they are increasing their total offerings by 25%, and as if it wasn’t already abundantly clear, I am here for it. We are here for it. And they are here for us, as you can pick up some of these bad boys nationwide starting this month. So if you see them at your local store, snag ‘em, snack ‘em, and then let us know if you think these new fruity and coconutty flavors are a Milan-yes, or a Milan-no—either way, we are on the Milan-edge of our seats.
