It’s no secret that we’re big fans of Pace products. The salsa and sauce brand has been dishing out piquant accompaniments to your chips, tacos, and burritos since 1947, and even though it’s long been owned by Campbell’s, it’s managed to avoid that over-processed, anonymous vibe that plagues a lot of other spicy dips out there. In our taste test of the best salsas out there, Pace Restaurant Style Salsa came second, and we also think it’s got one of the best hot salsas around – so we’re not just paying lip service here, guys. We believe what we’re saying.

And now, we’re excited to give its new sauce a whirl. Pace is releasing a new Picante sauce for the first time in 75 years. Get your bowls ready. Here’s what we know.
New Pace Chipotle Picante Sauce: Let’s Get A Little Bit Spiiiiiicy, People
Pace Chipotle Picante Sauce cements its position as perhaps the premium picante sauce around, having been the first company to put one out over three-quarters of a century ago. Its Chipotle Picante Sauce is a mix of tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, and chipotle peppers, and it has a medium heat level that won’t blow your head off, but will definitely leave a bit of an afterburn.
As with other Pace sauces, this Chipotle Picante will be able to go with most other things – but it’ll be especially good with anything that requires a mix of sourness and smokiness. This new sauce will be a permanent (we repeat, a permanent) addition to its product lineup, so no “get it while you can” message here, people! Each jar will sit at around the $4 mark or slightly under.
As Expected, the People Love Picante
Pace’s new sauce was announced via its Instagram, and because the news dropped shortly after it pulled its April Fools prank of stating that it was releasing a Sour Cream & Salsa Swirl sauce, it had to reassure its fanbase that it was telling the truth. “This flavor is real, promise,” it said in the post, while unveiling the sauce for all to see.
Fans responded with some very positive vibes. “Screaming crying throwing up,” said one person, using everyone’s favorite internet phrase to denote excitement. A food blogger who had a sneak taste of the sauce commented, “Can confirm this flavor rips,” which made us even more ready to try it.
Luckily, we can try it very soon: Pace Chipotle Picante will be rolling out in the next couple of weeks to retailers across the country. You can reasonably expect it anywhere that stocks Pace products already, although availability may vary from store to store in the early days. Pretty soon, though, we’ll all be dipping into it.
