Listen closely. You hear that sound? That faint, faint sound in the distance…getting closer…and closer…and closer? It’s the sound of crunch, wafting in on the wind. The sound of a pizza crust with a crispiness that you’ve never seen or experienced before. Does it sound good?

Red Baron definitely hopes so. The pizza giant has just released three new CRUNCHTIME (which its fully capitalizing, to emphasize said crunch) pizzas, and they’re available imminently, if not right now. Here’s the lowdown.
Red Bacon CRUNCHTIME: How Crispy Can You Get?
News of Red Baron’s new pizza options came courtesy of @candyhunting on Instagram, with the brand also listing its products on its website. Where CRUNCHTIME pizzas really stand out is that they’re microwaveable. Now, all of us have endured the indignity of pulling a microwave pizza out and being met with a soggy, limp, spongy crust that’s somehow utterly impossible to bite through – but Red Baron is promising that in just five minutes, your pizza will be cooked to perfection, with more crunch than you know how to deal with. Or, as it says, you get “oven-baked taste with microwave convenience.”
It does this by including a crisping tray in each pizza, which we would imagine works like other crisping trays, absorbing the microwave’s energy and essentially frying its base. As for the flavors, you’ve got Four Cheese, Pepperoni, and Meat-Trio to choose from. The former two are pretty self-explanatory; the last is a combination of bacon, pepperoni, and sausage.
Right now, the Red Baron website points customers towards Instacart to purchase them, where they’ll start at $5.99. Other retailers don’t seem to be listing them online yet, but keep an eye out, as they won’t be far off. Red Baron is the most popular frozen pizza brand in the US, so its CRUNCHTIME pizzas will likely be pretty readily available.
Those Pizzas Not Adventurous Enough for Ya? What About a French Fry Crust?
Wait…whaaaat? Yes, that’s right: A pizza of that nature is also on its way. In @candyhunting’s post, it also confirmed that Tombstone was releasing a new Garlic Parm French Fry Style Crust Pizza, made with creamy garlic sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, and garlic seasoning, all on a potato crust. Tombstone originally launched a potato-base pizza last year, and when we tried it, we found the potato base to be, frankly, a little weird. It was chewy, it was doughy, it wasn’t great. We can only hope that Tombstone has made some improvements since then. It’s definitely the age of frozen pizza innovation, though, and we’re here for it, however wacky some of the moves are.
