Our Honest Review of the 4 Newest Reign Storm Energy Flavors

“Clean energy” isn’t just an environmental issue, it’s a tagline! Reign Storm: Clean Energy is a spinoff line from Reign Body Fuel that launched back in 2023. Each can has no sugar, low calories, and 200mg of caffeine. The good folks at Reign sent over the four new Reign flavors within the Reign Storm line-up, and I put them to the test for you good people.

Mango Reign Storm

Mango!

Mango Reign Storm

Pros: If I had to summarize the entire Reign Storm line, it would be “no bullshit.” These flavors are all exactly what they say on the can—for better or for worse. If mango is your favorite fruit, this is going to be your favorite energy drink. I’m pretty neutral on it, but this certainly gets points for accuracy.

Cons: None of these flavors are particularly innovative (two are seemingly one-to-one recreations of flavor profiles from the more popular Red Bull and Monster brands), but this truly is just mango. I understand you have to build out the basic flavors before you go crazy, but adding in some peach or pineapple would have helped this stand out among the competition.

Guava Strawberry Reign Storm

Guava Strawberry!

Guava Strawberry Reign Storm

Pros: If you were worried that the strawberry flavor was going to overshadow the more exotic guava flavor here, I can assure you that’s not the case. They were right to put guava first in this title; this is guava-forward beyond belief. So, if that’s what you’re looking for, then you found it.

Cons: Unfortunately, guava was not what I was looking for. And the strawberry flavor is barely a factor at all. This was my least favorite out of these four new Reign flavors—still drinkable, but I won’t be returning to it any time soon.

Strawberry Apricot Reign Storm

Strawberry Apricot!

Strawberry Apricot Reign Storm

Pros: Back in 2022, Red Bull launched what we now see on shelves as “Amber Edition” with this same exact flavor profile. I have a deep love for Red Bull, but I think this new Reign Storm flavor beats out the Amber Edition. It has a fantastic tartness that feels like “real” strawberry, rather than just strawberry flavoring.

Cons: Is apricot a fake fruit? Because put this in front of any blind taste-tester and they’ll say this is Peach Strawberry. Call your elected representatives; I think we’re being scammed.

Citrus Zest Reign Storm

Citrus Zest!

Citrus Zest Reign Storm

Pros: Tart citrus is a popular energy drink flavor combo for a reason, folks. The tartness covers up the sweetener aftertaste some people have an issue with. This new Reign flavor tastes quite similar to another zero sugar citrus energy drink (while nearly doubling the caffeine per ounce), but I wouldn’t say it outshines that all-time classic.

Cons: By the time I was finishing a can, the flavor became tart to a fault!
