For some, October marks the official beginning of “spooky season.” For others, it marks the official beginning of a month of eye-rolling at people who are really into spooky season. But what’s sure to unite everyone? Tracking down new Trader Joe’s products.
We have approximately 0.0001 seconds before stores shove Christmas down our throats, so let’s make the most of it by celebrating the autumn tummy treats that Trader Joe’s is serving up this year! Here are some of the new Trader Joe’s products we’re most excited about this month.
- Harvest Vegetable Hash Egg White Bites
-
Head to the refrigerated section of Trader Joe’s and find these autumnal egg white bites. Made with egg whites for protein to help keep you satiated, cottage cheese to earn you street cred with the gym bros, seasonal vegetables like sweet potato and butternut squash to help meet your fiber goals, and enough cheese and herbs to make everything tasty enough on its own, even if you don’t care about the other stuff. Just 60 seconds in a microwave stands between you and this little number.
- Homestyle Cherry Pistachio Pecan Granola
-
This may not be explicitly listed as a limited edition Trader Joe’s product, nor is it the most aggressively autumnal food, but close your eyes and think about this granola. Crunchy oats, dried cherries, pistachios, pecans, pumpkin seeds, and coconut flakes all tossed with brown sugar and maple syrup for sweetness, then finished with extra virgin olive oil for an extra dash of class? Now, try to imagine a better snack to bring as you hike to the top of a mountain and take in the gorgeous fall foliage? What’s that? You’re too out of breath to answer? Fair. But you can enjoy this in sweatpants, too, or as you walk out of the store. That’s close enough to hiking.
- Thai Style Red Curry Soup
-
It’s soup season, baby! Well, it’s always soup season. But now it’s soup-without-the-excess-sweat season, baby! This is a great time of year to welcome back into our lives the belly-warming feeling and long-simmered flavors of curries, and what better option than this one, combining a Thai curry base and melding it with autumn flavors? It has the aromatic notes of ginger, garlic, and lemongrass that we love in a Thai curry, fall favorite produce like pumpkin, and chunks of white-meat chicken. A bowl of this plus a comfy robe plus the new season of Bake Off? Say less.
- Vanilla Bean Whipped Sweet Potatoes
-
What? Vanilla bean whipped sweet potatoes? Is it sweet? Is it savory? The answer is yes. Don’t look at us like you’ve never entertained the idea of sweet potato casserole. Instead, embrace this classy twist on a fall favorite. Sweet potatoes are whipped together with cream, sea salt, nutmeg, brown sugar, and vanilla beans to create a fluffy dish that’s salty, sweet, complex, and sure to impress dinner guests. Curious? We bet you are. Ever going to make it yourself? Probably not. Head to the refrigerated section and buy this new Trader Joe’s product instead.
- Pumpkin and Spice Brioche Style Liege Waffles
-
It just wouldn’t be an October list without something classically pumpkin spice. Liege refers to the region of Belgium, not “my lord, my liege,” although we do basically consider these waffles royalty. Sure, we have power dynamic issues, but we’re talking about waffles now. Not only do these include pumpkin puree, but they’re spiced with the classic combination of cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg and sprinkled with pearl sugar for an additional textural treat.
