Do you remember what snacks used to taste like before they had added protein? Do you remember what anything used to taste like before it had added protein? No? Us neither. There is absolutely no stopping the relentless push for food companies to add protein to literally everything these days, and snack manufacturers have been working overtime to make sure that your favorite treats are now all gym-friendly. It’s protein’s world, and we’re just living in it.

Want proof? We’ve got it. Just a couple of weeks ago, we brought you the news that Doritos is releasing a new line of protein chips, and now, it’s Utz’s turn. From March 4 to 6, Utz Brands Inc. will showcase its new protein-rich products at the 2026 Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, and we’ve got the lowdown on what it’s got in store for us: protein pretzels and protein cheese curls. Oh, and a couple of other snacks, too. Here’s what Utz has in store:

Utz Protein Pretzels

Utz’s new Protein Pretzels will be debuting in two flavors: Classic Sea Salt and Honey Mustard & Cheddar. Both will have a higher amount of protein in them than regular pretzels, although interestingly, the Classic Sea Salt flavor has more, at 10 grams per serving. Honey Mustard & Cheddar, meanwhile, have 8 grams per portion.

Utz Protein Cheese Curls

Utz’s Protein Cheese Curls will also be launching in two flavors – and both of them, as you might expect, are cheesy. Cheddar and Hot & Spicy Cheddar will be your options here, and both of them will have 10 grams of protein apiece.

Boulder Canyon Snacks

As well as expanding its namesake Utz line, Utz Brands Inc. is also adding a couple more options to its Boulder Canyon range. Among them are Boulder Batch Agave Sriracha flavored kettle style potato chips, which promise to be spicy, sweet, and salty, all in one. Boulder Canyon’s line will also gain some additional products and flavors on the tortilla chip and kettle-style chip front. While Utz Brands hasn’t dropped the full lineup of these flavors just yet, it’s looking as though there’ll be blue corn chips, Nacho Cheese flavor chips, and a sea salt option on the horizon. Yum.

When Can I Get My Hands on These?

As yet, Utz Brands hasn’t revealed exactly when it’s going to be dropping its protein snacks, but we’d imagine that they’re going to be available in the next couple of months, if not before then. As for its Boulder Batch Agave Sriracha kettle style chips, those are going to be out in April and will be available nationwide.

Ready to work out with Utz? Let us know what you think about these new flavors – and don’t worry, we’ll be trying them as soon as we can.
