I got my start here at Sporked by writing about two Gatorade flavors that exclusively launched at 7-Eleven and Circle K. (They tasted okay.) Today, I am once again writing about two new Gatorade flavors exclusively launching at 7-Eleven and Circle K. Time is a circle. This time around, we’ve got the 7-Eleven/Speedway/Stripes exclusive Gatorade Electric Flash and the Circle K exclusive Gatorade Summer Blaze. Let’s find out whether these new Gatorade flavors will live up to last year’s equally-confusing-sounding Midnight Ice and Lightning Blast Gatorades.

Pros: This new Gatorade is lemonade!
Cons: This new Gatorade is just lemonade! There’s surely something else going on here, but to my tongue (and all my fellow taste testers’ tongues), this is just a somewhat-watery, pretty tame lemonade-flavored Gatorade. That’s not inherently bad, but it’s so confusing.

Before we start, I’d like to thank the good people at Circle K for sending over samples of this almost-exclusive flavor for me to review. Full transparency, I’d actually found this drink in a Circle K before the samples were even offered because I’m built different.
Pros: This new Gatorade has a very pleasant tropical flavor. There’s a good amount of mango going on, but the secondary notes are harder to nail down. Pineapple? Starfruit? Whatever it is, it’s working for me—and I’m no mango superfan. Of the two new Gatorade flavors I tried, this one definitely won the fight.
Cons: There’s no comparison to the G.O.A.T. of Gatorade flavors: Glacier Cherry. This is worth trying for sure, but it’s not replacing my all-timer.

What’s next for Gatorade?
Alright, let’s all be cool about this. Beyond the third Gatorade Mashups flavor we know is coming in August, I have it on good authority that we’ll see a pretty major streaming show collaborate with Gatorade on two co-branded flavors later this year. Stay tuned to Sporked for more details (including a review by yours truly if I can snag them early enough).
